Beware of the fangirl...The diary of a Gaian.
This is the diary of Dawna Celeste, just another ordinary Gaian...or is she?
Return of the teapot.
I have to go to town tomorrow...well, it's later today at the moment. I'm going back to my old habits of waking up in the middle of the night and not going back to sleep...it's good I can do without much sleep.
But anyway, as I was saying, I have to go to town. Old Archie, as the GAIA 9 archives mainframe is called, seems to have suddenly forgotten where half the tapes are stored. Of course, the tapes themselves are still there ("Thank goodness nobody tried to digitize them!" Cindy said) but nobody knows where they are. Cindy's rather annoyed, because the tapes of the Snipings (I think it should be capitalized!) are lost. She said something about how they should be available at a moment's notice, with Halloween coming... I get her logic, but I don't think the Sniper will show up again for Halloween. I hope not...
I was trying to organize my stuff last night when she knocked on my door and asked if she could come in. I put down the just-unpacked purple teapot, threw the new pajamas on the bed, and opened the door. She sat down in the armchair by the window with a serious, "I need to talk to you" kind of look on her face...and then she saw the teapot on the dresser.
"Can I see that for a moment?" she asked, looking very surprised. I gave it to her and she took the lid off. She held the pot up to the light, squinting into it, and then gasped and nearly dropped it. "To my dearest love..." she wispered. Looking at me, she asked "Where in the world did you get this?"
I explained about how it was a birthday present. She looked even more amazed at the story. "Look inside," she said, handing me the pot.
I'd never looked into the pot before and I was surprised to see the words. Written in white on the purple china, they said: "To my dearest love, I give this to thee on our wedding day. May you drink many cups of tea from it. G. E. Donovinh"
"Donovinh?" I asked.
Cindy nodded. "That is the teapot that Celeste went off with. She said Father had it made for his first wife, her mother, so it should be hers. I don't think we'll ever know whose it is, or how it got to an Isle second-hand shop, but it's back... It's almost unbeliveable!" I thought I could see a glint of tears in her eyes.
Of course, I gave it to her, but she said it was mine now, and we both finally agreed that it didn't matter, but that a teapot's place is in the kitchen. So there it sits, looking wonderfully beautiful on a shelf... It almost feels like a good omen. I hope it is!
