Naryn couldn't remember which direction the forest was from the town. All she could see was flatland. She had already walked two miles before she realized this. Her anger causing her to blindly wander until she was lost. She kicked a rock and sent it skipping across the dirt and grass, disturbing a hudle of crows that had been picking at an unrecognizable, small, dead animal. "I can't believe it!" She screamed. "I have to go all the way back!" She crouched down and began to cry, but it didn't last to long. Naryn had a strong will and a determined heart. She carefuly scanned the horizon for the outline of trees. She noticed a mountain range far in the distance and knew it wasn't that way, in fact that mountain range had been to her left while she was walking toward the town. She turned arround, sure that she was headed in the right direction.
~Meanwhile~
"Gahh, please don't let it get me!" "Aww, is the big bad messenger affraid of the Wolfie?" Ruin circled the huge and muscular man he had tied to a tree. His companion, (for he was by no means it's master) the Wolf hunched down on his forlegs and growled menacingly at Prince Darkin's messenger. "I, Ernil Ruin of Nel Arda Gald, demand to know why you have trespassed upon my land. Has Darkin sent you to spy on me?"
"N-no my lord. I was merely taking a shortcut." "A shortcut?! To where?" "The sea, your lordship." "Tsk, tsk, my dear messenger, you do know that I know you are lying. A messenger of Dorthonion would not pass through Nel Arda Gald to go to the sea unless he where spying. We are feuding, you know because of that brat prince Ruin who thinks he owns his father's kingdom already." The wolf bared his teeth and stepped closer to the prisoner. "I-I'm sorry my lord, I forget your wit surpasses my own. I am to go to port, 'tis true. But, on my way, I have orders to report any "michieviousness" that you may be up to." "Ah, well, if Darkin is to know my business, then I shall know his. Why are you going to port? So far, it must be something of great importance." Ruin stroked his chin, thinking what it might be. "Oh, no sir, if you knew, it would ruin everything. No, I can't tell you." "Ha ha, well...Ruin...is my name." He unsheathed his dagger and held it to the messanger's kneck. "One slash and RED is all my companion needs to see to make him...very...hungry." The Wolf licked his chopps and panted hopefuly. "Oh, noooo, no, ahhh." The messenger shrieked like a little girl and tried to wiggle away from the dagger. "I'll tell you, I'll tell you." Ruin re-sheathed his dagger and folded his arms, waiting patiently. "I am to seek information on a girl." Said the messenger. Ruin's eyes lit up and the mention of a girl. "Really." He said slowly, stroking his chin as he tended to do while he thought. "Yes, a girl who might bring ruin to Prince Darkin's plans." "Ruin eh, I like the sound of that. I think perhaps I might go in your place." The messenger became very solem. He knew now that he could not return to Dorthonion. His life meant very much to him and it would be forfet now that he had revieled Darkin's secret. "I have no further use for you." Ruin cut the rope. "You may go now." The Wolf looked up at Ruin, clearly disappointed. "Oh, go get a rabbit or something." Ruin waved a hand at the Wolf and went into his tent to mule over this "Girl" he had to find. The Wolf sulked off into into the bushes to find himself a snack.
