The Galley and the EMP *rose*
Taran
Taran was just about at the edge of his patience with all that was going on when the gwees were taken away. They mentioned that blue might need them before they went with the gaurds.

"Great. Like that helps us any." Taran grumbled.

"Like what helps us any?" ANTIE-D asked. Taran groaned. He forgot that unless the gwees used speakerthought to the area, ANTIE-D couldn't hear them. If they were only using direct telepathy to beings, simple speakerthought to beings and not an entire area, ANTIE-D was... well, deaf to it.

"The gwees think blue may want to talk to them. Maybe Rose, er, blue... well, maybe she can get us out of the galley like we're prisoners?" Taran asked, looking around. Why were they in a galley, anyways?

Taran, out of boredom and finding himself too distraught to meditate, started rummaging through the galley cupboards, in search of food. Or something.
ANTIE-D
Taran busied himself around the galley for a while, while ANTIE-D updated her uplink with ANTIE down on Gaia. After the uplink was finished, she closed the link, which was now setup for automatic once an hour updates. That would allow for the best energy conservation and accuracy. There shouldn't be anything major for a while now.

ANTIE-D turned to regard Taran, and suddenly there was a surge...

Taran found himself kneeling on a counter trying to look into a cupboard above that was full of strange boxes of mixes and such when the ship tilted one way and then the other. Then the light went out.

"This is wonderful." he muttered. "ANTIE-D, got any backup batteries?" Taran asked.

He didn't get a response for a moment or two, so he carefully climbed back down off the counter. Walking over to where ANTIE-D had been last, and banged his knee on a chair just as the lights came back on.

"What in the light was that?!" Taran asked.

ANTIE-D turned to regard him.

"What was what?" ANTIE-D stated.

"What was... what?" Taran asked, confused. "You mean you didn't... oh, no. Wait."

"I did not what? And what shall I wait for?" ANTIE-D replied, her face still blank.

Taran groaned, and closed his eyes for a moment. Neko, the little black cat, looked up at him from the table she was laying on top of, and was staring at him when he opened his eyes once more.

"You know what? Let's not wait for anything. Sound good to you?" he asked ANTIE-D tentatively.

"Sure. What then are we doing?" ANTIE-D replied.

If Taran was right, her AI was shut off with the power and her entire program didn't upload. Maybe she didn't remember much.

"We are getting out of here." Taran said, and Neko even stood up, stretching. "But there are gaurds out there, and we don't know what force they've been authorized to use."

ANTIE-D just nodded, and headed over to the door. Silently, she raised the door and pulled it diagonally, and broke it off it's hinges. A few gaurds came running, but ANTIE-D knocked them each out with a single blow to the head.

"Wow. Remind me not to make her mad, okay Neko?" Taran said to the coco kitty, who happily jumped on his shoulder and then climbed onto his head.

The small group of refugees ran out of the galley and wandered somewhat lost through the ship, looking for the Dragonfly or for Rose.

*notes the only flesh & blood creatures are me, rose, taran, the gwees, and neko; rest are unmodified AI units*

I was actually talking to ANTIE-D for ripping off the door...but yeah; the mage should have stayed put. He was actually safer there.

Actually, if either of you had the same situation with Taran, you would have done the exact same.

Since, of course, Dragon hastily threw them into a room that they were meant to be locked in for a long period of time, without knowing who they (the gwees and himself) were, what they were doing with rose, or why they were with rose, I would safely state that anyone would have the same reaction to the situation.

In addition, having an EMP kill ANTIE's circuits and making her "memory" go offline, she was reduced in class immensely. So thusforth, you want to think that someone made a mistake, blame someone a bit more in charge.

And if you were in my place, chazu, you'd do exactly the same because of what Rose did to your place and then you find her in the company of strangers.

And the EMP was NOT my idea!

Yah, Chazu, it wasn't her "idea".
Its her fault, but its not her "idea".
no difference between the two in my opinion, but oh well

No, seriously! Why would I ever want to use an EMP on a WARSHIP that my family reprogrammed?

I think there's a huge different between it being her fault, and being her idea.

Example: You trip and knock some stranger to the floor.

It may have been your fault that the stranger fell, but it wasn't your intention to do so.
Or you could blame the loose floorboard you tripped over. Eh...

Sooo yeah. Shouldn't put too much blame on Dragon.

1) I'm in your position Dragon. Rose ruined my life for a short period of time. However, I got over it. Taran doesn't seem to be much of a evil threatening type of person, and the Gwees are hardly scary. I'd have far more trust for her.

2) In all technicalities, Dragon set herself up for the EMP.

1) Past experiences have a tendency to haze over current issues. to be seen in future entries

2) The only way I'd set myself up with an EMP is if I knew the outcome.
