Rufus's Journals (Stories)
Well, these journals are more like stories. Stories of my character Rufus. I'm writing out his whole past, and sense I was getting more addicted to Gaia I felt I should post them up here. ^^ Please Enjoy!
Blood Stained Hands, Chapter 5
Rufus rushed home as quickly as he could, still holding the paper that the mysterious Emanuel gave to him. Opening the door painfully, he glanced around the house. It looked deserted… perhaps Ann didn’t come that day…? He walked into the kitchen as he glanced to the clock and stared in shock. “I-Its three in the morning…!?” Now realizing, he noticed he was horribly tired… after all so much happened… he stared down at the paper. “Leftway… what does that mean…? Is it supposed to be two words…? Maybe it was written as a mistake…” He stared, and then yawned. “nn… I’ll just do it in the morning…” He walked up stairs as he got into bed quickly, falling straight asleep.

There… were screams…and crying… Rufus stood there, just a young 9 year old boy. He glanced around, it was darkness. He stood alone in the light. Why… what was going on…!? He blinked as… what was it, a door way? A bright door way… in front of him… he began to walk towards it… as the screaming seemed to get louder. “I’ll kill you, you stupid KID!” his eyes widened as he looked behind him. No… Kiden was there, running at him. NO!! The darkness turned into that broken down building, as he watched the explosion rush past Kiden and…

“AAUGH!” Rufus quickly sat up in his bed, breathing hard and in a cold sweat. He blinked as he looked around the room. “…a d-dream… that’s all it was… a-a dream…” He spoke nervously, as he slowly laid back down. Glancing over to his clock, it wrote 12:38 P.M. “W-wait… school…!” He was ready to jump out of bed, but then realized it was a Saturday, so he plopped back down tiredly.

Wincing from his arm, he stared at it for a moment. …Emanuel… did he kill the doctor…? I bet it’s on the news… he forced himself to get up, as he walked over to the door and opened it. Walking down his long set of marble stairs, he finally got to the entertainment room as he opened the doors and walked in, turning on the TV.

“Okay… channel…. Four..?” He spoke to himself as he switched the channels. He was right; she was on the news… dead. He looked down and sighed as he got off the couch. He killed her in cold blood… he cant trust a guy like that… she didn’t do anything that deserved death…!! But… looks like the police monitored the tapes… they know what he looks like… it’s blurry but… they also knew that Rufus was missing from the room. But his name was still unknown to them.

“…The doctor never told them what my name was…” …but their going to certainly find Rufus soon. The police have a lot of technology at their hands, and their going to track Rufus down. His DNA was at the scene. I’m sure they had more then enough. He clicked the TV off as he looked around the large room. He stared at the computer for a moment. “…maybe…” He walked over as he sat down in the chair.

Rufus clicked on the Internet icon, as the internet popped up. Typing in a search website, he moved the mouse over the area to type in, as he typed slowly with only one of his arms. “L-E-F-T-W-A-Y.” He spoke out as he typed each letter. He pressed enter, as the pages pulled up. There were only five.
Some strange… dating service… thing written in languages he didn’t understand, but then one popped up that interested him. “The Leftway Family, a guide to all its members.” What’s this…? He thought to himself. Clicking and entering the site, he searched through the front page.

Everyone has heard of this mysterious vampire family… and I have decided to make this site to help people. I’ve been looking into it for quiet a while, and every now and then we have people report to me about an awareness of a new found member. Anyway, for those who do not know about them, this family seemed to appear from out of nowhere, the first member, and currently the family head, Milyn Leftway. She appeared to everyone as a child in the late 1800s, but then began having children somewhere in the late 1920s. Most of the children born that early however were eliminated, mainly by the other up and coming Vampire family known commonly as the Rightway family. They became bitter enemies over an unknown problem between the families.

It’s been many years, and Milyn is still around. She has been alive for over 100 years now, and found a way to get past those demons wanting to hurt her children. Apparently, she sent them off to other families to be taken care of, until she felt it was best to take them back.

“This is… ridiculous…” Rufus sighed, as he held his head. “This isn’t logical… she’s over 100 years old, still having kids… but…” He looked back at the screen. “I… I’m adopted… I know that… maybe… I’m a Leftway…? And… maybe her son…?” He stared at the text. “…if she sent her children away to protect them… she… must be a caring mother… maybe… if I get back into the Leftway family… I can have a real family again…!” He became immediately excited, he wasn’t going to be alone anymore! He was going to have real, truly caring parents..! The thought excited him, though the idea of everyone, including an enemy family, trying to kill off the Leftway family lingered in the back of his mind. He shook it off as he searched through the website. “Maybe they have… some link…! Or address…!” He searched through it all, as the address did eventually pop up. He smiled as he turned to the printer and printed it out. Running over he grabbed the paper staring.

…What if they aren’t who I expect them to be…?

Rufus stared for a moment at the paper, finally letting the negative thoughts come into his mind.

What… if I’m actually not a Leftway… and for some reason I’m being pulled into some sort of trap…? What if their really mean, or scary…!? Who knows all the things they could be, the possibilities are endless… but… this site doesn’t really have any more information… its totally useless otherwise…

He bit his lip nervously. I… want… to escape… to escape this horrible life… I have no one here… but… Emanuel… are they all like him…? Heartless? So easy to commit homicide? As if their lives… meant nothing to no one... Dr. Demei… she was loved by someone wasn’t she…? They must be crying now… maybe she even had a family…

Rufus wiped his eyes. Don’t depress yourself like this, this is all you have…! Let’s just think logically about this. I can’t do much at all with my arm like this…but this would also give me less defense with the kids at my school… but…I do need my education as well… and… if demons really exist… I think meeting up with them would be the worst thing I could do… I would get myself killed… He told himself. Staring at the paper for a moment, he folded it and put it in his pocket.

“Mr. Hues…!!” A farmilliar voice rang as Ann ran into the room. “Oh, thank goodness! Your back…!! Oh… my god… what happened to your arm!? And your head… their both injured!!” Rufus blinked. “Oh… I uh… tried to make food last night and I burned my arm… then I slipped when I tried to put it out…” Ann stared somewhat unbelieving. “…fine, if that’s your cover up then that’s your cover up.” Rufus smiled as he walked over. Ann laughed lightly as she fixed his shirt a little. “Oh boy, there you go, much better. Oh, what about your tie…? You know what your father says.” “No, I don’t, he’s never around. So for all I know, it could be only you saying it.” “What a smart alleck! Well, I can see you’re badly hurt… do you want to go out for a few hours…? I was thinking maybe I could bring you out to a park or something. You know, enjoy things the way other kids do…! You’ve wanted to try things like that right…? But with your arm…” Rufus shook his head. “No, forget my arm…! I want to get out of the house for a while…. I’m sick of being here.”

Rufus sat on the swing, as Ann read a book on the bench. Rufus swung lightly as he watched the other kids play. Obviously he knew he couldn’t join them, and they never really let him. I mean, whenever its recess no one invites him over to play anyway… he’s always sitting by himself on the swings… at least that’s how it’s been sense school started. He still wished badly that he could go back to private school. He had good friends there. No, wait.

Rufus stared up to the sky; he seemed to be in deep thought. …I must decide now… he thought to himself, how I should react to the Leftway family… perhaps it could also be a hoax… but who would waste their time making a website and… killing… to pull it off? It can’t be a hoax. That would be way too… insane! I’m sure they want me now. They want me back. But would they force me…? He got off the swing as he walked over to the jungle gym, climbing up using only one of his arms as he sat down on the side letting his legs dangle. Emmanuel gave me that paper so I could find out for myself what he was. Assuming he IS a Leftway that is. If he was an enemy he would have eliminated me. I should hope that at least. Anyway, if I were to go with them… what would I lose in the process…? He blinked as Ann sat next to him. “You seem to be troubled. Is there anything that you might want to get off your mind…?” Rufus stared then shook his head. “N-no… I’m fine Ann….” No… that’s what I would loose… I would loose Ann… but… this is just her job… right…? “Ann… w-what do you think of me…? Am I just… your money ticket…?” Ann blinked and stared. “…Rufus…” She put her hand on his head and messed it up slightly. “I’ve been loosing money at this job as well from all the cutbacks… a maid isn’t exactly one that would bring her bosses out to the park, or ice cream… even the movies now and then…” Rufus stared. “…the movies…? We’ve never gone to the movies…” Ann smiled. “That’s why today is going to be different. You’ve been so depressed Rufus. I want to help you out of it. Not to mention you are hurt… and though I know you should be staying at home and resting… but I think your depression should come first.” Rufus stared then smiled. “Alright!! Yeah! That sounds great…!” He jumped off the jungle gym. No, I can’t leave now, Ann…! She likes me! She wants me around…! She’s even loosing money on me…! I don’t want to leave then! Even if they are a family who will take me in...! She obviously cares about me…! Unlike Emanuel…

He started walking with her, as a pair of dark serious eyes watched them. “…looks like I found one of the Leftway children. How lucky.” He flexed his metal gauntlet as he walked out from the shadows. “After all, he was easy to find with that pathetic Leftway practically leading me here…” Rufus blinked and looked over. “…H-huh…? Who are you…!?” His eyes widened as he heard the name mentioned. Leftway… E-EMANUEL!!! “Rufus what’s going on…!? Do you know this man…!?” She stared up to the unknown man. Rufus glared at him nervously.

Most of the children born that early however were eliminated, mainly by the other up and coming Vampire family known commonly as the Rightway family…

“Y-you… you’re a Rightway… aren’t you…!?”

The man stared. “Don’t you feel clever. Jarret Rightway.” He glared as he walked closer. “Don’t even bother to escape… there’s no way you can anyway.” Rufus backed away scared. Oh no… not the Rightway’s…!!! What can I do…!?!
