Sitting as comfortably as possible in her room, Rose, with her ribs badly broken tried not to fidget. Taran was sitting in the chair across from her, and Jaa, Tuli and Niko were watching Rose intently. She tried to not get aggitated. blue had told her to relax and let go. Rose was finding it almost impossible to do either because of the pain.

"Look, I don't think this is going to work after all." Rose said to everyone, for perhaps the eigth time. "I just can't relax! I can't let go of anything if I can't relax."

For the tenth time, the gwees looked at each other, and blue still didn't say anything. A humming permeated the room. blue was still trying to hum relaxation into Rose. She'd been trying that on and off over the last hour or so.

"And can you please stop! It's not helping, blue!" she yelled. She blushed, as she looked at everyone in the room. "Sorry." But the humming did stop.

"Look. We still have a long way to go, yet." said Taran. "Maybe we should just try to heal a bit normally, and see how things go from there." He got up and stretched a bit. "After all, we've been at this for three hours, and I am tired."

Rose nodded, and hung her head, feeling quite ridiculous. Taran waited a few moments, and when Rose didn't lift her head again, he left the room. The gwees followed him, and he closed the door softly behind him. Rose got up out of the chair, and got into some pajamas very carefully. Her ribs were hurting immensly, and she knew she did not relish healing naturally. She lay down on her bed carefully, trying to find a spot where it did not hurt to breathe.

Niko pawed off the light switch, and Rose mumbled a thanks from her pillow. She lay there in the dark for a long time, before finally falling asleep.


The next morning, Rose woke up and yawned. She sat up and stretched. She couldn't remember why, but she was happy. And, she realized, not in pain anymore. rose looked at the gwees accusingly, and they shook their head. She got up and got dressed. She needed to talk to Taran.
