Beware of the fangirl...The diary of a Gaian.
This is the diary of Dawna Celeste, just another ordinary Gaian...or is she?
A quick note, before Halloween.
Phew! I haven't had a free moment the past few days! Between helping out at the station (doing everything that needed to be done but never seem to get done) and getting my costume right... The only reason I have a chance to write now is that I'm on the train to Durem. Yes, the train. I loath the slow thing, but Cindy made me take it... Besides, my costume's no good for walking. I'm just glad I brought these comfy slippers to wear on the train...
Boy, it feels odd to have short hair! I got Cindy to cut it for me and dye it black. I wasn't going to risk having a hairdresser see my fins... She wasn't very happy to cut my hair, but I pointed out that her hair was short too, and I can get extentions when I want it long again. She washed out the last of the silver dye before she cut it, and she braided a lock of my hair into a bracelet! She's wearing it now.
I'm dressed as Cindy. It sounds easy, but it wasn't. Cindy would have let me wear one of her outfits, but they didn't fit! The shirt wouldn't button over my chest, the jacket wouldn't button at the waist, I couldn't even get the skirt on over my butt...and the shoes were much too small. So I had to get a look-alike outfit... I think I did pretty well, although there were some problems. The biggest was that the jacket I'd got didn't fit over the shirt. I only discovered that when I tried it on last night, and what a scene I made! Cindy solved that one by pointing out that very few people would notice if I only wore the jacket. I didn't think so, but it's true! Let's hope I don't get cold...or hot!
The next problem was the skirt not fitting over my rabbit tail. Cindy solved that with a small knife and a bit of superglue to stop it from fraying. Now this skirt, like all my other clothes, has a hole for my tail!
Cindy also told me why I got my tail at Easter. Due to someone's idea of a joke, the chocolate eggs that were given to people during the egg hunt contained nanobots filled with rabbit-person genes. Some were for the tail, some for the ears, some for the teeth... I was rather lucky I only got the tail! Cindy also told me that due to the true rabbit-people's complaints, an antidote had been made, containing other nanobots that would remove the rabbit-person genes from a normal human's body. "You wake up the next morning without a bit of tail left," Cindy said, "it's all reabsorbed." I don't think I'd like that though... I know it sounds silly, but I've got rather attached to my tail. Besides, what would I do with all the clothes with holes in them?
One good point though: I didn't have to buy shoes, because the ones I got for my birthday will do fine! They aren't very comfortable though, but I'll have to deal with that.
Now...the plan. I'm going to Durem with Lady Luck to get my flat back together. It's going to be our base during Halloween, as well as our hideout if things go too badly wrong. Hmm...I'll need to get something done about that window! Cindy and Mike will probably get to Durem by car about the same time as I will by train, but hopefully they'll be busy for a while...that place is a dump!
