Jaa, the Ice, and the Cure *rose*
Taran requested ANTI-D's help with the procedure they were going to try. It was simple, really, in its concept. Only ice from the Blue Dragon homeworld could really cure Muhyam for Blue Dragons. Gwees developed powers based on their owners' abilities. For Jaa to be an ice-gwee, she must have been raised on the Blue Dragon homeworld. And her magical core, therefore, was most likely Ice from that world.

To cure Dragon, she would need an injection of melted ice from her homeland. Simple enough to do. The hard part would be getting the ice.

Jaa already understood the risks. There was a good chance Dragon would survive. That's all that Jaa cared about. She had to tell Taran this many times. She heard his thoughts question himself over and over again. But she would not let him change her mind.

Taran, with ANTIE-D's help, sedated Jaa. She was laid down on a counter, and ANTIE-D took a scalpel and sliced open her ribcage. Taran had to turn away, and could only bare to give ANTIE-D instructions on how to proceed.

"I see it." ANTIE-D said, and turned to Taran. Taran grabbed the tongs, and motioned Tuli over. They only had a few moments.

Taran took a deep breath, and turned back to ANTIE-D, where she was holding clamp-loking objects that were holding parts of Jaa's internal anatomy away from what looked like a icicle in Jaa's chest. Taran took the tongs, and grabbed ahold of the icicle. Pulling it out of Jaa's chest, the gwee stopped breathing. Taran grabbed a beaker, and as Tuli breathed measured amounts of fire at the icicle, it melted into the beaker. Careful not to melt it all, Taran watched Tuli and Jaa, his eyes flickering back and forth.

Finally, the water in the beaker came up to the line ANTIE-D had drawn, where her calculations predicted would be enough. Taran quickly and carefully replaced the icicle, now more of a lump, back in Jaa's chest. He didn't realize he was holding his breath until her chest rose slightly, taking in a breath again. ANTIE-D quickly and expertly sewed up the gwee's chest, and then wrapped her in a bandage, across her entire midsection.

Turning away from Jaa, knowing that they could do no more (and Taran unwilling yet to see if she would live) they took the beaker over near Dragon. ANTIE-D took out a syringe, and then filled it with the water from the beaker. Taking note of Dragon for a moment, ANTIE-D quickly jabbed the needle into Dragon (remembering her inaffinity for needles) and pushed the plunger all the way down.

ANTIE-D and Taran stepped back, and stared at Dragon, waiting to see if it worked. Well, not quite. Taran looked back at Jaa, whose small breaths were slowing.
