"Why was it that everytime he kissed her or touched her, she would loose all resistence? Was it a proof of love? She knew she loved him, that's why it hurt. But did he love her back?
"Don't go!" he exclaimed. "I don't want to lose you!"
Mayelle looked at him in the eyes and saw how sorrowed Danell was to see her leave for Assena to retrieve the Sapphire.
"But I must!" she replied sadly. "It is for the better of the world!"
He grabbed her into his arms, holding her against his chest.
"Then send someone else," he answered, "but don't go. I can't afford to loose you. I love you, Mayelle!"
Mayelle felt his tears wet her shirt. She pushed him back slightly, observing his face. A comforting smile appeared in he side of her mouth as she wiped the tears from his face.
"I am the only one who can go," she said softly, almost muttering. "I bring no one with me because I, myself, have seen too much of my companions die in the hand of the enemy. If I don't go, we may not love each other much, for our souls will not be ours anymore."
What she had said reminded her of Shayla, the one who had the wisdom in the group. Mayelle spoke nothing but the truth and she wished Danell would understand her. It was for the better of the world.
"I promise I shall come back," she added, hoping he would let her go.
Before she could do anything more, Danell approached himself and kissed her.
Kind of mushy, I know. But I kinda like scenes like this one. They are very cute and add some kind of different aspect to the story. A few love scenes here and there and it adds a little dressing to my salad. I just invented this passage of my story like that, though I knew there would be one like this some time or another.
