Working on it
Something I wrote... havent done spelling or grammer yet. Have a read, and tell me what u think

Its funny, the things you think about when your alone in the dark. Not all are good thoughts. Goblins, creatures, horrors that claim the mind of the 10 year old child. The knowledge that none of this is real, and yet you can feel the pressence of something sinister under the bed, in the hall, outside your window. Long nails tap the glass and you close your eyes, repeating over and over words that offer no comfort. You want to call out to Mummy, but you hold b ack the sound, knowing that only babies ask for mummy to save them.
And so you suffer, alone in your room, feeding on the noises and the certainty that your not alone until finally you gather the strength to turn on a light. You reach for the torch you used to keep under your pillow, and curse lightly, knowing Mummy must have moved it when she made your bed while you were at school. Now you have no choice but to rise from the comforting security of bed and turn on your light, disperse the monsters back into the night.
Cold breaths, long and even, can be heard and it takes a moment to realise its just you, and not the creature from your closet. Heart thundering in your ear, you toss the blankets aside and jump from our bed, feeling the air rush past your feet as something took a swipe at you, missing by inches. Your squel, afriad and run for the other side of the room and flicker on the light. Breathing hard, and looking around the room you slowly allow your breath to slow. it's then you hear the shouts from down the hall and you look at the door. Shouting, crying, the sound of broken plates and glass and you feel the tears prickle in your eyes, sliently sliding down your cheets and onto your chest. Mummy cries out, and you Daddy say something low and harsh. A loud slap that you know means Mummy will have a bruise in the morning, another one you won't look at, or ask about.
Suddenly you wish you had kept the light off. It would be better to hear the monsters then to hear Mummy's tears...

Dahlia sighed, pulling her blonde locks to one side of her neck as she re-read the words again. Something was mising, and no matter how many times she read the piece, she could not pin point the source. With a gentle sigh, Dahlia rose, leaving the hum of the computer and walked to the kitchen, replaying the mental image in her head that never seemed to be so life like when she tried to bring it to paper. She went to the coffee maker and poured herself another mug, adding sugar and milk before she took a sip. closing her dark eyes and smiled a little at the comfort coffee seemed to always bring to her.
but the comfort didn't last long as she went to the table that stood in the center of her kitchen, the paper from 3 days ago looked up at her and she couldn't help but frown. The reviews of her lastest book, "Only Tomorrows." looked up at her. Unorginal, heartbreakingly unreal and damaged beyound repair, were just some of the words used by critics. She picked up the paper, ignoring the article one more time and went to the bin. She pressed the plastic foot pedal and tossed the paper in. As much as it hurt to read those words, even Dahlia had to admit her lastest attempt had not been good. She was lacking direction, and her writing showerd, characters were under developed and storyline was worse.
