I looked out the window and what did I see?
Popcorn popin' on the apricot tree!
Spring has brought me such a nice surprise.
Popcorn poping right before my eyes.
I could take an armful and make a treat.
A popcorn smell that would smell so sweet.
It wasn't really so,
But it seemed to be!
Popcorn popin' on the apricot tree.
That's a song that I used to love sooo much. When I was about 8, we would go on car trips to my grandma's house, which was about 2 hours away. During those trips we would all sing rounds, like that song and The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down, ect. Realy silly simple songs. But we loved them.
I had forgotten all about this song and the others until just the other night, when my stepmom sung it to my little brother. I was amazed and horrified at myself for forgetting! I suppose now it was kind of stupid to be so upset at myself. But I suppose that I was so horrified not that I had forgotten a song, but that I was accually growing up.
