Well, this is my first journal entry. I've kept about 3 diaries but never seemed able to keep interest in them long enough to reach past the middle of the book. Perhaps this will be different.

My first thought: Have you ever stopped and wondered what the purpose of others being in your life is? Or what your purpose for being in THEIR life is?

For example, someone who's cruel to you. Why are they in your life? Are they meant to teach you something? If so, what? Will you someday thank this person? Will they solve some deep problem who never realized was there?

Yet at the same time, why are you in this cruel persons life? Are you supposed to teach them something? Or perhaps you're just a stepping stone, and it will be many more, or few more, people after you, and it's all those experiences together that teachers this mean person what they need to learn. If your meant to teach them something though, what is it? Can you fail at teaching someone something?

Your best friend, your lover, every single person you've ever met...is there a reason you met them, do they teach something, even some tiny thing, from each and everyone of them? And will any of them remember you?

It's an interesting thing to think about...
