Gold Neckless

It was the middle of the night and she heard a loud bang, like a gun shot. A sound, sadly, she was familiar to, in her poor, and horrible neighborhood. She got out of bed, since the noise sounded close, she wanted to check if there was any danger. She went downstiars, quietly so she wouldnt wake her littler syblings. She went to the window, near the door and looked out. There, in the middle of the road, in front of her house she saw a man standing with a gun by his side. Right in front of him, a man, lying on the ground, in a puddle. The guy seemed to chuckle as he kneeled down to grab a fancy looking box next to the man, motionless on the ground. The eight year old girl didnt think much of it, since she has seen it plenty of times. Before the man, with the gun could pick it up he looked up to see flashing lights and a loud siren, and he ran. She watched this event, then heard her littlest brother, who was four, say, "sissy, where's daddy?" "In bed..." She replied. "No. I just checked. Daddy isn't there." he said hugging his teddy in his blue P.J's. The girls eyes widened as she looked outside, there was an ambulence and some poilce marking the spot of the man. Her eyes seemed to tear and she told the little boy to go to bed. When he was in his room, which he shared with two other brothers she ran outside. "Daddy! Daddy!" she called out as they loaded the man into the ambulence. The poilice men looked at the little girl, poorly dressed, and skinny, run to the man. One grabbed her and another came to her. "Sweetheart... is this your daddy?" to speechless the child nodded as she wiped her eyes. The poilice man tried to hold her back, but she squirmed away and ran to her dads body, dead, and under a white blanket. She held tight crying, "Daddy! Dont leave us! Please! Mommy left us and we have no one else!" Her tears rolled onto the white cloth as she held tight. One poilice guy peeled her off, and they put the body away. She cryed as the poilice man held her back. One poilice came to her, a fancy looking jewelry box in hand. "Does this belong to your family?" he asked as the other guy calmed her. She examined it then said, "Mommys jewlry!" she grabbed it, and opened it. There was a note, and a neckless in a small baggy. The note read:

Dear Becka,
if you are reading this, then i am not with you. I write this now, knowing my time is soon. I love you and though i couldn't supply what you need, and you may think im horrible, I am sorry and I want to let you know I do love you. I love all of you. Including your sister, who has also passed away. I write this in hope your father will give this to you. As you know everyone got a letter when i first passed away including you. But i knew that there was one special thing left. I didnt want it to gather dust onsome shelves. So, to you, my only daughter left, i give you a special neckless. Your grea great grea grandma got it on her wedding day. And so did your great great grandma and so on. I wanted to give it to you on your wedding day, but seeing as i am sick, i will not be able to. So i give you this now. I hope you will wear it every day and cherish it. Dont loose it and becareful. I hope you understand, this is a special gift from my heart, to you. And i also hope you understand, that I love you and no matter what i always will. I will see you in heaven my sweetheart. I love you <3

Love,
Your mother.

The girl wiped her face and took out the neckless. It was a gold neckless with a heart on it. She slipped it around her neck and wiped her tearing eyes once more. The man who had given her the box took her inside, where the little girl broke the news to her, 4 year old brother, 2 year old brother, and her 1 1/2 year old brother. They all sta crying together. They were brought to a poilice station for the night. The next day they left with their aunt and thats where they stayed. The little girl, Becka, kept the neckless. She wore it everyday and never let it out of her sight. And everytime she thought of her mother, she grasped the heart, and cryed. But not just for her mother. But for her father, her sister, and for everyone else she lost or was loosing.
