So today I went to the beach for the first time in only God knows how long.
I ended up going after Nicole (p***s.gif) invited Seb Daryus and I to go with her and her boyfriend David (Deyvon).
I hadn't seen Nicole in like--literally forever--so I didn't care where we were going. We could go on a field trip to a land fill and I probably would have went.
So Seb and I were going to meet her boy David for the very first time evars, omg. Aside from a very short and inappropriate ( rofl ) telephone conversation and some super brief chatting on Gaia, I had very little contact with him until today.
Well--all of that came to an end when I randomly decided to bear hug him when I first saw him. I was giving Nicole big hugs and greets, I thought David needed some to. (:<
Not much thought process occures with me before I act upon impulse. That's okay though, I don't think I startled him too badly, as he managed to hug back.
After dilly daddling in my house for a while we went off to eat at some southern-style buffet. It's not the highest quality food in town, and I'm not entirely sure how David took to it. (I'm not at all aware of his culinary tastes lol) However, the place is good for stuffing yourself silly on mediocre gut-filling food, so it suited me just fine. I'm not too picky when it comes to face stuffing!
I ate a lot less than I generally would have, since we were all talking a bit. It was a tad silent at first, but we managed to get some conversations going--mostly by picking on Seb or Nicole (and probably me while I wasn't paying attention/wasn't at the table! XD). It was entertaining watching Nicole mutilate David's food. I started to feel like I was at school again and everyone daring each other to eat strange concoctions lmao. So yeah, that was some fun. (:
After we finished up eating, we set off in search for the beach! After living 6 years in this area, I was still very little help with directions. What--I'm a hermit. I know where my home, office and the local grocery store is and that's pretty much it. For everything else I just have to wander around until I find it. XD
We get to the beach and mosey on down to the shore line and dip our little paddies in the cold water. We poke and prod through the seaweed for a while, having a look at jelly fish, sea cucumbers and shrimp (which are elusive little devils =.=). At some point Seb drops our cell phone in the water.
That was one piece of technology that I would rather not have gotten so up-close and personal with the Gulf of Mexico . . .
It doesn't work anymore, just in case you were wondering. smile
Hah--yes. Seb spotted a huge piece of driftwood, which we later ended up refering to it as driftlog as my father was so kind to point out that it was far to massive to simply be driftwood. Seb, Nicole and I debated whether or not we should take it home with us. I was worried about dirtying David's car, Seb wanted to wrap it in her jacket (WTF?? XD) to keep his car from getting dirty, and Nicole was trying to assure us that it didn't matter.
And apparently Nicole owns both David and his car, because neither David or the car had any say in the matter and we ended up bringing it home with us lol. (Nicole: So let it be written! :<)
God that thing was heavy.. Nicole wanted David to carry it, but I was determined to show how manly I was by lugging it down the short stretch of beach by myself. (Seb tried to help a little, but I think I just ended up stumbling over her XDD <3)
Oh yeah, and David fed me something nasty when we stopped to get petrol. Some odd chocolate and cocoa powder covered peanuts. Chocolate covered peanuts I like, but the weird cocoa powder stuff was just.. gonk And yeah, I tattled on him to Nicole when her and Seb got back from inside the convenient store. Nyehehehhh~ dramallama
For me, it was a hilarious ride back from the beach. Despite the fact that I was in one of my least favourite places to be (the beach), I enjoyed the hell out of myself. David treated us all to cold yummies. I think David had a Banana Cream Pie Shake, Nicole a Coke Float, Seb a M&M Sonic Blast, and I had an Oreo Sonic Blast.
At the time, I had said that it was the first time I had ever been to Sonic--but now that I think about it I think Seb and I went there with my Dad just before one of our trips back home to Wales a few years ago. It was next to the hotel we were staying in near the Airport and we walked over there to have some ice cream. (:
But anyway, I hadn't realized that there was such a variety of drinks and things there. I'm determined to have one of their Iced Teas, Limeaids or juices. I'm nearly dying of thirst thinking about it.
I was beat by the time we got back to my house, but I didn't really care too much. Again, to prove my masculinity, I heaved the piece of wood up onto my porch. However, on the way there I stopped to say something along the lines of "Shoot, I broke a nail" which sort of defeated the purpose of my manly attempt.
We all chillaxed for a while talking about random things, fish, plants, ponds, cosplay, David following us to conventions to laugh at us while we are cosplaying, etc. Then they left to go back to her Daaaaaad's. )*:
I don't want to take up all of David and Nicole's time while they are here, or time Nicole might need to be spending with her Dad (since that is who she is actually visiting down here lol), but I hope we can hang out again before she leaves.
I almost don't want to though, because I know it will make me miss them more when they have to leave at the end of the week.
Okay, time to go to sleeeeeeep~
