[Kai Note: I had a close call last time when my entire journal nearly got deleted, but everything was saved. Yay! *blows party noise maker & pours everybody a glass of vodka* So... Sotaru, Luichen, Kai, & Rem were dragged into another dimension. As far as we know of right now, Luichen & Sotaru blew up. Meanwhile, Aergan, Taka, Zaira, and Taronis are battling with a league of warriors sent by someone. Kio is returning from his talk with Damion. Get it? Got it? Good. ONWARD!!]
It was night out but there was not a cloud in the sky. Nor a moon. It made the entire place almost pitch black, making it hard to scale a cliff wall. Kai huffed as she knocked her head onto a suddenly protruding rock ledge. She growled and & stared down at the barely seeably Remish outline.
"Remind me again why we aren't flying up to the conviniantly placed cave in the mountain side?"
Rem chuckled mentally at her annoyance. "Because that could attract unwanted attention. Especially since we don't know what's up there. Its more discreet to scale something than to be out in the open." She shot her an evil grin that made the demoness's back shiver. "Why? Is this too much of a strain on your brittle body?"
Kakairo 'hn-ed' before continuing climbing up the face of the cliff, noticeably at a faster pace. "I'll brittle every inch of you once we get to the top of this damned rock...." She growled the mumble.
Rem chuckled out loud this time & followed suit. "Save it for the bad guys, Kai-chan."
Kai shot her a quick death glare for the sake of her pride. Though Rem was one of the few people in her life that she hardly got mad at, despite how she acted. Even now she wasn't. Rem was not only her best friend, but also what would be considered her only mother figure. She had met the woman long ago & was one of the people who guided her from darkness. Rem helped open her eyes & guided her even to this day. Kai looked up to her for that. Rem knew it, too, & practically adopted the demoness as one of her own. They could tell each other anything & could tell when the other was upset, hurt, or in trouble; no matter the distances. They were also each other's comrade. Each knew what the other was planning long before they did it, & backed them up in case something came in their path. Kakairo could think of only one other person she had that strong of a connection with.
A sudden eruption catapulted Kai from her thoughts. She looked over to see a burst of flames and billowing smoke rise to the heavens a mile away. It had to have covered the length of a football field. It contradicted the darkness so much it pained them to look at it. Rem felt like her eyes were being melted out of their sockets. She shielded them with one forearm, the other clutching onto the rock to keep her up. She looked up at Kai, only to barely see her. The sudden light had temporarily blinded both of them. But she could see the movement of the demoness as she turned to look at Rem simutaniously with the same bewildered expression.
||The guys.||
They pushed off the cliff and begun dropping like boulders, Kai a few feet from Rem's soles. At the last minute they flung open their wings, catching them on a wind current & skimming the tree tops. Kakairo felt the tug on her shoulder blades as she was lifted into the sky. She loved the feeling of the wind in her hair & as it brushed against her pounding wings. It felt cool & crisp & not like the atmosphere in the arena.
But there was no time to enjoy it. The two women were pushing through the winds as if propeled by jets. Their wings speedily worked hard, powerful thrusts. In no time they had covered the distance between them & the spot of the explosion. All that was seen of the area from a few miles away were glowing embers, ash, and bits of flaming destruction. The air smelt of sulfer & death. Anxiety filled their stomachs as they quickly neared. Did they already just lose two of their comrades? They circled the air like hawks; studying, hunting for any signs of life.
"There!" Rem shouted triumphantly. Her index finger enthusiastically pointed to a spot at the far end of the chaotic circle of destruction. Kakairo's gaze followed the direction & was relieved to see Sotaru's flea-like dot jumping & running around this other little dot. It looked like a woman & she was holding off his attacks with some sort of energy blast. But where was......
"LOOK OUT!!" Luichen's voice bursted a few feet from them, making the two jump. He caught Rem around the waist just as a wave of spears rushed past them like a flock of birds. Rem's eyes widened as one passed so close it grazed her cheek. She looked up, panicing for a moment, to see if Kai was able to counter them in time. They bounced harmlessly off her space sphere, the demoness glaring stoicly at them.
Luichen sighed & let Rem go. She looked at him, about to spout her usual spiteful comments at him, but decided otherwise. He looked tired & the whole one side of his face was covered in blood from a wound on his head. It must have come from the explosion.
"Its the mage from the beach...." he explained. "Her name is Celeste. She's human, but class A. Really powerful. She's been able to produce some genesis portals too. No human can do that alone. She's had some help."
Rem nodded, seeing what he meant now. With the darkness she could barely have seen them, but now she noticed an whole army of the genesis beings shifting like an ocean of ants at the ground. There had to be thousands of them.
"Korosu...."
Rem's back shivered at Kai's voice: malovantly sweet like a siren, yet the harshness of nails on a chalkboard. Her aura was so thick and dark that it covered her body. She almost blended into the sky. Her red-glowing eyes were vibrant, though. Rem could feel the hatred issuing from her. She wanted revenge for what happened to Takara. Both of them did. Rem swallowed so that her own anger would stop knotting up her throat.
"She's playing with us! Like a cat with a clueless mouse!!" Kai screeched.
Luichen nodded, understanding why she was so ticked. "Take out the genesis, watch out for her attacks, and then we'll smash her into a bleeding blob."
There was a silver arch that flew across Kakairo's shadowy form as she withdrew her wakizashi.
"Gladly...." She tucked in her wings and shot like a bullet at the throbbing mass of the genesis that Sotaru was barely holding off on his own. Luichen followed close behind with Requim & Banryu suddenly materializing in his grasps. Rem paused just long enough to grin like a kid in a candy store. She cracked her knuckles.
"This will be fun...."
A strand of green energy formed in her right hand & morphed into a bow. Her left formed an arrow, which she expertly readied on her bow. She took a second to aim before letting it fly. It whistled straight & true at her chosen target. Small green wakes formed in its path as it struck the skull of an unsuspecting genesis.

It was a whirlwind of sounds. The rush of the beating rain, the sloshing of the many feet tearing hurriedly through the weeds, sludge, & water; the clash of battling swords & rustled clothing.
Jack's breathing was sharp & quick as his body tried to supply the energy he was quickly running out of. His legs felt less sturdy beneath him and each swing of his blade became more difficult to do. It was harder to keep up with the speed of his opponents, who seemed unphazed, still, & full of energy. He had tried taking the advantage by using his pyrokineses. Though his flame skills were still improving, making the attacks weak. They quickly drained him, on top of that, & the warriors were able to avoid it. They weren't like him, they were inhuman.
A sturdy upper-cut threw Jack backwards. No sooner had he regained his footing when another warrior stabbed at his chest, aimming at his heart. Jack shifted to the right but was too slow. HE felt the metal tear through the top of his shoulder, scraping across his collarbone. Another warrior whacked Jack's sword from his weakened grip. It flew into the air & was swallowed by the dark grass some yards away.
Jack gritted his teeth but kept his ground. An icy pain from the gash had spread across the whole left side of his torso. His three opponents had surrounded him, readying for the finishing blow. He stood tense in the center. His now free hand clutched his bleeding shoulder. Tiny crimson strreams of blood leaked between his fingers & trailed down his forearm, instantly washed away by the rain. Where were the other when you needed them? Where did Zaira & Takara take off to?
Jack noticed the being to his left shift. Jack gathered his remaining energy into his arm. He wasn't going to go down by just standing here. He only had once chance for this final blow. One was better than nothing.
The warrior lunged into the air. Jack heard the blade cut through the air as it was readied to impale him. He sensed the movements of the warrior, the nearing presence tingling his skin as if it were a radar. At the last second he shifted towards the attacker. He could feel the cool brush of the blade as he ducked under it. Before the warrior could react, Jack's hand was clutching the wooden mask that cover its face. Jack felt it flinch from surprise just before a wave of fire shot from his palm. It enveloped the entire head it one big rush. Jack felt it give an unnatural jolt under his grasp. When the last of his flames died he let the being go. Nothing identifiable was there. Just charred remains. The body fell like a rock to the ground.
Jack, now fully drained, sank to his knees. The water sloshed around his knees & the grass tickled his elbows. He could feel the bloodlust and anger of the warrior's comrades. They at him wiht speeds too fast for him to counter-act even if he had the ability to. As they attacked from both sides he knew that there was nothing he could do to stop the nearing end...
A clawed lizard foot suddenly slammed into his attackers from above, squishing them into the ground. The sickening squelch & crunch of breaking bodies could have been heard a mile away. As the ground shook & rumbled from the foot, Jack's back went from bent & tense to straight as a board. He turned his head, wide-eyed, to look at the scaley toes on either side of him. He slowly looked up to see a dragon loom above him. Its long neck was crooked to look down at him. The glaring eyes were glowing aneerie white light under the haze of the rain. The scales had a glossy sheen from the rain & the teeth were sharp enough to carve stone.
JAck relaxed and he threw an angry look up at the ferious creature. "WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG, TAKA?!!"
A laugh that sounded like a deep-throated growl rippled from her throat. ||Sorry. They had an aerial assult waiting.|| She telepathed to him. She licked her chops. Jack shuddered.

Taronis's opponents laid scattered in the grass. His blade was covered in his enemy's blood. Only one remained His opponent's frame heaved up & down as he tried to catch his breath. He could tell he was tired by the way he was slouched & how his blade hung heavily in his grasp. Taronis smirked. This was too easy.
He straightened his back & sheathed his blade. A blob of matter formed in his palm & began to morph. The opponent let out a battle-cry & charaged at him. The blob twirled into a long pointed needle. Taronis's smirk grew into a sneer & he flung the projectile at the being. It shot through the air like a bullet towards its victim. A proud smile spread across his face. He did it! He finally mastered-
The projectile melted back into a blob & fell short of its target. Taronis felt his face fall as the warrior quickly covered the distance between them.
Too late! Now what?! Taronis's brain raced. It wasn't long before his precious miliseconds were wasted & he felt the blade's tip on his adam's apple. He swore he could hear the warrior, naught a foot away, snicker at his unfortunate blunder.
And before he knew it, Taronis was sprawled eagle-spread across the grass. The rain fell onto his bewildered face. He saw stars & his chest hurt where something had slammed into it, pushing him from the blade's point. Coughign the air back into his lungs, Taronis sat up & tried to recall what happened.
"Are you hurt?"
Taronis looked up at the familiar voice & saw Kioshi. The body of the warrior laid in bloody cutted chunks not far away. He blinked up at the angel. He did all of this that quick? He couldn't even remember being pushed.
"How... when... where the hell did you come from?!"
"Flew. Where are the others?" His voice was a gruff, all-busniness tone. Taronis opened his mouth to respond but just then an ear-splitting shriek drew their attention to the skies. Kioshi looked up stoically in time to see a firey orange phoenix fly past them over them in a rush of flames. The stream of fire that spread in Aergan's wake lighted up the entire area. A dragon followed close behind.
Takara roared a greeting as they landed a few yards from KIoshi & Taronis. The dragoness gracefully folded her massive wings and Kioshi was relieved to see two passengers riding on her back.
Thank God... this half of the group was safe. His gut turned when he remembered the others that they still had to find. They might be in serious trouble at this moment while they were just standing around here. Random images of many gruesome possibilities forced themselves into the angel's brain. He quickly pushed them out. Though the knot remained in his stomach. Something bad was on the horizon. He could sense it. They had to move.
"Is everyone alright?" He asked in his general-voice.
Taronis picked himself up & began wiping the mud off of his attire. Kioshi noticed that they were all shaking from the rain & were exhausted from all the fighting. He doubted they all had enough energy to get through another battle without seriously being injured.
Taronis rubbed his neck to make sure he was ok. A few drops of blaad appaered on his hand. Only a scratch.
"I'm cool." he said.
"We're fine. But Jack's injured." piped up Zaira. Jack threw her a glare. He straightened as Kioshi studied him, weighing on the possibility of whether or not to exclude him from anymore combat. He couldn't help but wince as the sudden movement pulled at his wound.
"I'm fine. Its just a gash. Someone can heal it later." he argued before Kioshi could make his decision.
The angel nodded. "Stay with Taka. No matter what."
Jack nodded obediantly. Kioshi turned & began concentrating on the spot in front of him.
||Do you know where they are?|| Takara telepathed hopefully to him.
Kioshi nodded, not looking at her. Takara watched his back. She could feel the guilt & apprehension vibrate from his form, despite his apathetic shell. She could relate. The dragoness couldn't keep from telling herself that the reason Kai & Rem were gone was because of her. If only she was faster in getting off that beach...
A burst of blue-light cut through the darkness & created a swirling vortex in the atmosphere. Crystals of rain glimmered as they reflected the light. Only then did Kioshi turn to them. The power of the portal ruffled his damp white hair. His clothes, like everyone else's, stuck to his frame from all the water.
"Be ready for anything. I do not know what's on the other side of this. Stick together."
The others nodded & he stepped into the portal. They waited before following him. Aergan had shifted into a dragon similar to Takara's form, since the phoenix wasn't discreet enough. Takara closed the front of her mouth around Taronis's collar & lifted him up.
"HEY!! WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING YOU OVERGROWN REPTILE!!"
She dropped him roughly onto her back, barely avoiding a spike, before she flew into the portal after Aergan. The three on her back clung onto her scales to avoid getting blown off.
