"If the world were to end now, would you regret?" she asked, eyes unwaveringly starring at the never ending grasslands.
I didn't know how to answer her. Would I regret? I thought of all I had done. All the things I had live through- and all the things I had yet to live through. Would I regret? I didn't know. All I could do was stare at her face and hope that maybe it would tell me.
Her face was a pretty one. Ruby eyes set in a porcelain pond. Soft raven wings halo-ing her face, and perfect lips. Was a face like that supposed to strike such chords? I mused.
"It fits," I mumbled. "Beauty comes with sorrow."
The wind picked up, blowing the gold and bending it to its will. Her face didn't waver from the painfully grey scene.
"You call me beautiful, but that is not what I have asked. Think on it."
She turned her face towards me, and I saw nothing there. I happened to blink, and she was gone. Had she even been there? I didn't know. Even if she hadn't- she had caused me to think. That was all that mattered.
~Senpai Ri-san says I should send this in to the literary magazine at my school. I think I will- just because I promised her I would. ^^'
