I love the bias everyone seems to have. I know, my case isn't so serious, but it is downright irritating. Here's what happened. I'm a reg on a music board on AOL (yeah, teh patheticzzz, I know, but it's a timekiller), and so every so often we post bandlists. Mine are almost bi-to-trimonthly (not that I'm keeping track). So, I posted mine earlier this month, and Christina Aguilera just so happened to be at the top, right above Mew, The Feeling, etc etc etc.
This ******** idiot had to go and open its mouth.
"gag. That list was totally mainstream. You must love everything the mainstream shoves down your throat. Robot."
(that wasn't word for word, btw, I forget exactly what it said, but it was along those lines)
Upon further inspection of its posts, I could tell it was a fan of Keane and Coldplay. Oh, they're so underground, yeah. Platinum-selling #1 albums, arena tours, having their ******** songs used in movies, TV, movie trailers...yeah, yeah, that's pretty underground there. Here's the thing though: If Christina wasn't at the top of my list, then it wouldn't say that. If Keane was at the top of my list (which they would've been a few years ago), it would say differently. However, Christina was, which made it quick to dismiss me as a mainstream "robot."
If Coldplay is its idea of underground, then I wonder what Silversun Pickups is...
Then again, when your video is played on MTV, it's kind of hard to call you underground. But what do I know.
