Remembrance
On and on they go,
Never silent, always flirting
With the danger of hurting
That comes from words that drip unheeded from the mouth
Like scattered flames.
Pain pain pain
With the shadows surrounding
And your heart out of reach
Numb and shaking because
You've built a wall you can't breach
And you're afraid of the silence, buried within,
But more of the sound that comes creeping in,
The whispers of the life you've fallen away from.
Dark anger trickles through the mind
Like a stream of blood,
Staining the pure snow
Of happiness.
A ring of fire drifts
Round my thoughts,
Entrapping my hatred of
Your ignorance and deceit,
So I look away and let it burn,
'Til ashes of your memory fly in the wind.
Shattered
Weaving spiders scattered tangled webs in the gloom.
Do you want me to fade,
Becoming a shadow in the night to make your life easier?
Insensible dreaming covers shattered pieces of fragile glass;
Invisibility increases daily.
If my heart was stone, would you bleed for me?
If my lungs were torn, would you breathe for me?
Hope, hopeā¦
A friendship in pieces over nothing, but I won't fade for you.
See me.
Slender Tree at Sunset
Pale and elegant, bare white branches
More whisper-thin and delicate
Than the finest feather dreams of being;
Like a pillar of gleaming ice,
You shoot upward from the ground,
Sparkling in the quickly fading golden light,
And gently you reach up and
Touch the first faint stars,
As the sun sinks into a still sea of shadow.
