Yet nobody cries
They can’t shed a tear for what they did not hear.
They came to school like any other day
Asking who died today?
Their fellow classmate tells them
Someone got motorhit yesterday.
No shirts of his favorite color, no cries for his leaving
No cries from any loved ones in a school so unbelieving.
I cannot say I am proud of the quad I walk
For no soul is kind.
No loving tears, announcements, or last-loving words
Nothing as kind as that Andrea.
How can people e so heartless
For they act as nothing happened.
For the dead they have no sympathy.
I am ever proud to say
I stand up for John today
How can this school be so unbelieving
To say that popularity is everything.
But I say to you if you if he was popular
They would have done many things in his memory.
But since he wasn’t there is no sympathy.
Even though I didn’t know him, I’m proud to acknowledge his death today
For it is sad to hear the death of a student, and not seeing anything loving done for him.
John, whom I stand up for thee.
THE STORY BEHIND IT
*this was a special tribute poem i wrote for the skewl. For acknowledgement of Jon Devalos' early leaving.
**Andrea was this girl whom passed away last year on memorial weekend because of a boating accident, many ppl were seen wearing shirts of her favorite color, and a gloomy day it was,
***HOWEVER:the day after john passed away after a hit and run motor vehicle accident, it was a normal day. no body knew a fellow student passed.
****SO: to enlighten everyone, i wrote this piece, to lighten my heart. even though i didn't know him, i have much pity and remorse for wat happend to him, and sympathy the no one else had the will to acknowledge his death.
