Rambling, Disjointed Mumblings
I don't think I'll ever use this much, except perhaps randomly to document things.
Profile Collection
So I've decided to take my documentation one step further and make a log of all the profiles I've created on Gaia. XD I have indeed captured these since the start. Surprisingly I've only done a few - it feels like a million... but since I've done them all in such a short space of time I guess that's normal.

Uhhh, wait. I lie. I actually did one before these based on a commission from my good friend Vashtastic. That one is lost to the ether, though I still have the awesome piece of artwork - a section of which is now serving as the icon leading to this very journal in my About section! (As of Oct 2009.)

How I make my profiles:

I DID try my hand at coding but couldn't do much with it due to my lack of patience. XD; So all my profiles are V2. I don't think this has had any effect on their quality - in fact, I may not have had such good results on a Classic profile, since I'm much more interested in artistic layout than the complexity of what I'm creating. I'm also not very into huge things intended to just make you go WOAH. I like simplicity.

Rather than going by themes such as, I dunno, Rock 'n Roll, I base my designs on colour. Colour is very important to me irl, from how my house will be decorated someday to the clothes I buy. I like contrast, and I like boldness. I think this comes through even in my more subtle designs.

I'm such a girly girl, of course I made a pink profile first (after the missing dark blue one). I'm a huge fan of all the pink and gold items here on Gaia. This remains possibly my favourite profile of all time, just for the sheer MEness of it. No other profile since has come closer to who I am at heart than this one.

Judging by my avatar, this was created shortly after the Gogh Reed first evolved.

Just after I started making the icons for this journal I realised that I in fact have NO RECORD of my full green profile! =< I remember I had it during the shuffle to this new computer and the files must've gotten lost.. or maybe I tricked myself into thinking I'd saved a picture when I hadn't.

I can tell you that the profile was green and gold and contained for the first time my own artwork, in a pastel style created by keeping the sketch lines intact. I used stock yellow daisies from Gaia and, also for the first time, a French quote: "Le vent du destin est soufflant encore." That is to say, "The wind of destiny is still blowing." I tried from here on out to utilise the language whenever I could in my profiles, and to keep it along a "destiny" theme. Therefore in a way they're all linked together.

P.S, to anyone who clicked the icon... nyehehehe! GOTCHA! X3

I don't really have much to say about this one (except for the fact that you can now see the whole profile in one go thanks to my new huge resolution). I made it during a difficult time and didn't really put much effort into it. The notable thing about it is probably my continued if not heightened usage of music to add mood to the profile. I changed it quickly into my next one, which is probably my joint favourite with Pink...

(The French here, if you can even notice it amongst all the black, means "Make your own destiny.")

This is my love of bold colours really coming through here. It's still not my cheerful self, but I find it to be elegant and clean if not a little punk. I modified the image from a stock photo to fit my taste for the profile. Also note the increased usage of French to decorate the page... I originally added just the red text, which translates as "Destiny? ...... Tch! (Literally: Well!) I'm not five years old." I then added the faded text when I chose the beautiful Koe (Tsukiko Amano) for the ambience. They're a French translation of the first two lines, meaning "If you were living at the bottom of the ocean, I would become a fish just to be by your side."

I got a load of compliments for this one and was quite sad when I felt like changing it. But still, the times move on.

From simple and clean, if not a little cold, to earthy and art nouveau (still a little cold if you ask me, though XD). Again, I use my own artwork here. I wasnt sure about it because I hate showing my work to people (I'm a much better traditional artist than digital), but in the end I liked it very much.

The French here shifts from destiny to regret. Even though the tone was melancholy in the last one, if you can understand the French in this one you might agree that it's equally as unhappy. "Regret? I regret everything." I then juxtaposed this with one of my favourite songs ever - I really identify with it! - with lyrics such as "I want a moment to be real, want to touch things I don't feel, want to hold on and feel I belong," and "They can't break me as long as I know who I am."

I suppose this profile actually reveals a lot about me if you know where to look.
