Friends are great. They're there for you when you need them. They're there to comfort you and make you smile. They're there to defend you when someone picks on you, and they're there to take up your cause.
Friends are there so you don't feel lonely. Friends are there so you don't feel rejected. Friends are there to be just as crazy as you are.
As my dad ocne said: 'A true friend won't come and bail you out of jail. A true friend will be in the jail cell with you saying 'man, that was stupid'.'
A true friend doesn't tell you not to do something, and leave. A true friend would tell you: 'If you do that, you're going to get into so much trouble.' And then does it with you if you still do it.
A true friend isn't a fair weather friend. A true friend sticks with you through thick and thin. A true friend doesn't care about what you look like or what you're wearing. They only care about you. Your personality, your characteristics. A true friend likes you for you; not for your popularity, your looks, or your boyfriend/girlfriend. A true friend isn't exactly like you, but you get along great anyway. A true friend is as crazy as you, as out going as you, as much of a nerd as you, and shares quite a few of your interests.
A true friend always comes back when you get into a fight. A true friend never stops being your friend because you did something stupid. A true friend always looks at you, sighs, and says they forgive you, no matter how many times they've forgiven you in the past.
These are the characteristics of a true friend. Consider yourself extremely lucky if you have one. THey're very hard to come by nowadays.
