Remember when, We were just pixels and text, A beautiful lie At its best.
Laughing at how we got addicted Together, always forever That's what we'd say But forever is a big promise, remember? Promises turn to lies, so easily, don't they, honey?
Remember when, We complained about our parents And our shitty lives We didn't think about How we were making it that way We were bringing it on ourselves, honey.
Remember when, Pixels turned to dreams? We wanted to see beyond what we seem We made plans to hang out But plans turn to disappointments, don't they? We were broken
Remember, when we wanted to be each other In each other's shoes And we'd figure it was so easy But other shoes are hard to fit in, aren't they? We wobble and fall over Losing balance, like a fallen rainbow.
Remember, when life became too demanding? We got too caught up with ourselves, the people we really knew We promised to keep in touch, but pixels stay frozen Promises are lies. Lies are broken promises. The electrical bill goes down, and we laugh and smile. We forget, don't we? Because text is just text. Like how we forget what Harriet Tubman did Three years after we learned it.
Remember, when we said goodbye, and you said life was a b***h? I didn't believe you, but I think I'll believe you soon. Pixels are promises, pixels are bitches, pixels are stupid dreams Kicked to the ground, hidden under the bed Like lost families, they yearn for each other. But life goes on, doesn't it? And the pixels fade away.
Let me fade into true reality.
