she sits in a window, sleep dazed and peaceful. her hair already mussed is Explored by a languid hand absently combing the short wavy mop, blinking she regards the unsmiling figure below.
The conection is true, the face is aged- more world weary but she knows him. Rising she pads in bare feet to the door, the t shirt she wore to sleep is rumpled but she doesnt care. The button is pressed without prompting, she doesnt need to hear his footsteps on the stairs to know he is coming, the raised hairs on her forearms are warning enough. She opens the door, looks up then up again to meet piercing eyes and that smile.
He shoots her twice.
she laughs softly with him as she slumps to the carpeted floor, the distance between them seems immense as he introduces her to a lady softly glowing with happiness. The lady is proud and admiring of the bullet holes in Her shoulder and breast; the wounds are examined and praised like fine pieces of jewlery.
Rising brings a contentment as the three of them depart the doorway along a dimly lit hallway to another place.
alone together He smiles that smile again, she holds her breath as he tugs her tremulous fingers gently away from the holes in her t shirt.
keeping her hand in his he tugs her back to the ground and lays down himself, she notices it is white as they drift in and out of the same dream, she notices her blood coursing and pooling along the uneven floor. rivulets of red, red life.

His blue eyes pierce her own as the coolness of the dream starts to burn, she awakens but cant recall the only words he whispers to her in those last precious seconds.
