to munch a soggy pickle
This is just stuff I feel like writing down. It may be about dinosaur comics, it may be about food; it may even be about goldfish. I probably won't update on too regular a basis.
Ok...
so I'm going to be taking a break from Gaia. I need to start working on having a life and Gaia is an addiction that threatens to just suck me in. I don't even have the energy to go to every guild I'm in and post an explanation, but I can at least say what's going on in my journal. I'm not even sure if I'll be back on Gaia on any regular basis in the future.

Anyway, now anyone who was wondering why I haven't been around has an explanation for it.

Rawr :domo:
So I'm going to the mall in a little while. I don't know which one yet; I want to go to Forest Fair (renamed Cincinnati Mills but I refuse to call it that) because my friend works at Subway there, but my sister wants to go to Tri-County because it has a Hot Topic. She's going shopping with her boytoy *rolls eys*

yummy
THC is good. 3nodding

[big grin]
It was a great show! My dad even enjoyed it, and he's more of a jazz fan than a Bauhaus fan. At one point in the show David J., the bass player, borrowed a pink feather boa from someone in the audience and threw it around his neck. I swear, Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash are such divas, always showboating, lol, but it seemed more like a friendly rivalry than anything that led to the band's original breakup in 1983 (yeah, I know...before I was born xd ).

My dad took forever to get ready to leave for Chicago on Wednesday and we didn't get on the road until 12:00 when he'd said we should leave by nine or ten. It worked out though; we got there just before seven and the doors at the Vic were opening late anyway so timing was just right for us to barely have to spend anytime at all standing in the cold. My dad didn't even book a hotel for us until right before we left, but that turned out well for us too.

After the show my dad and I got some food at an Ethiopian and Eritrean restaurant. The appetizers were really good but neither one of us was crazy about the entree. Anyway, when we got back to the hotel -- which was just around the corner from the Vic -- as we went in the first entryway I saw a tall blond guy coming from the elevator with some luggage. When we got into the actual lobby I got a good look at him and thought "whoa -- I think that's David J. eek " I wasn't entirely sure and I'm not the type to turn into a rabid fan and foam at the mouth, so I just smiled and said "Hello." I figured he was probably tired and I didn't really have anything else to say so I just kept walking and couldn't make out what he said back but my dad tells me he was very pleasant, smiled back and returned the hello.

So that made the trip all that much better. A nice little coincidence that allowed me to have a friendly moment with someone I greatly respect. Actually that night, I wasn't completely sure it was him, but the man at the desk in the morning said the entire band had been staying there for three days. I think they were getting ready to leave for their next stop on the tour when I saw David, what with the luggage and all.

On Thursday my dad and I walked around parts of Chicago, stopped for coffee and window shopped. We noticed this really cool painting in the window of an art gallery so we went in to look around. The owner was an extremely friendly and energetic woman who ended up talking to my dad and me for about a half hour, lol. Somehow or another their conversation at one point ended up being about old 78 records and the death of album art now that people buy CD's and not Lp's anymore. My family is planning to take a trip back up to Chicago early next year and my dad is thinking about saving some money to buy art when we go. If we were to get a painting it would have to be a print or a very small original. Some of the really huge acrylic and oil paintings were over $3,000. But hey, artists have to eat and paint is expensive. : P

My dad and I saw the interestingly odd displays in the window at Hollywood Mirror so we went in and looked around. We ended up getting a few presents for people while we were there, and I found a beautiful long black dress with long sleeves and a dark green design on the upper half. I need to find some dress shoes though, which isn't easy because my feet are just big enough that it's difficult to find dress shoes that fit. Most of the time anything pretty stops at a size 9 or 10 and then from there's it's old lady shoes. mad I'd order some online, but I really want to try shoes on before I buy them.

Anyway -- damn I talked my mouth off in that -- that's pretty much how the trip went. It was a good time. biggrin

:ninja:
Just posting here 'cause I haven't in a long time. I'm about to get kicked off my parents' insurance when I turn 19 because I'm not in school. Go me.

Awww yay-ya!
So one of my favorite bands, Bauhaus, is reuniting for a tour this fall and I'm going to see them! My 19th birthday is November 6th and my dad is going to take me to see them in Chicago on the 9th. (It was my suggestion, of course blaugh ) I'm really excited about it, considering the ephemeral nature of this reunion (they broke up in '83 and since then have gotten together very briefly a couple times, but it didn't last). At least to me, this is the chance of a lifetime.

Yay! heart

It's been a while o.O
Well I haven't been up to much lately, just sort of looking for a job and sitting around the house. I have been getting out more, which is good. And I'm sort of a stoner again...I don't have a lot of money but I smoke when I can.

feh
My sister didn't get to do anything for her birthday yesterday, so we're going bowling around five o'clock today. Before then, I have to wash the dishes. That might not sound like a lot, but in our house it's a big job. Every plate, bowl, knife, spoon, fork, cup, and glass in this house is dirty, which means three+ sinksful of dishes to wash.

And my friend's mom found out that we were smoking pot and called my mom. Last night she was like "Stacey's mom called about that joint you smoked at her house." I guess she hadn't noticed that I'd been sitting in my room getting stoned all day.

I totally copies eek. So sue me!

b***h-Slap

Personality defect test
You are 28% Rational, 0% Extroverted, 57% Brutal, and 0% Arrogant.

You are the b***h-Slap, the hallmark response of any abusive husband! You are more intuitive than others, focusing more on feelings than rational explanations, and you are also probably very brutual because you care more about yourself than the well-being of others. As most of us know, brutality combined with emotion often leads to b***h-SLAPPING, which is why you are called "The b***h Slap". (This does not mean you are emotional, only that you are more affected by emotions than rationality when making decisions.) Another trait you possess is that you are very humble, which could mean you are insecure because very few people are brutal AND humble. Not only that, but you are also rather introverted, and any tendencies towards brutality you possess may also result from the fact that you bottle up your emotions and don't show them to others until you explode in rage. Most likely, however, you are not a VIOLENT person, just someone who is rather selfish. At any rate, being a b***h-slap does not necessarily mean you will abuse your spouse; it only means you are rather intuitive, uncaring toward others, brutal, introverted, and possibly insecure.

To put it less negatively:

1. You are more INTUITIVE than rational.

2. You are more INTROVERTED than extroverted.

3. You are more BRUTAL than gentle.

4. You are more HUMBLE than arrogant.

Compatibility:

Your exact opposite is the Braggart.

Other personalities you would probably get along with are the Schoolyard Bully, the Class Clown, and the Brute.

I find it extremely entertaining that I scored 0% Extroverted and 0% Arrogant. X P
