Here Comes someone
Its kinda a song and just a little something i made up
CHAPTER 1
BRING! BRING! BRING! “Why does school have to start so early?” I mumbled to myself. As I kicked off my covers I remembered that I had to make sure I didn’t wake up my mom or dad. From across the room I saw my brother in the shadows waiting to say bye and fall back asleep. “Hey what do you think you are doing awake this early in the morning? The sun is at its highest. Now go back to bed.” I ordered him. “No not until you leave.” Ayen said and I could tell by his tone of voice he was going to be just as stubborn as always even though he was afraid of the sun. “Come on, but stay in the shadows. I’ll go and get you a drink.” This time I surprised myself by my own generosity.

I decided it was better than sending him back to bed on an empty stomach. I could hear his light foot steps not far behind my own. “So how are you feeling today after that incident with garlic at the restaurant?” I asked him. “Don’t even mention that word, spice, thing whatever it is. It makes me shiver just thinking about it.” He sounded so mad when I asked him that I decided to change the subject. “Soo how was last night’s flight,” I asked “Find anything interesting?” “Nah just a couple of guys hanging out in an alley. What about school yesterday? You came home then just fell right asleep.” He was right, yesterday was long and tiring. “Wait,” I said noticing the quiet sound of an engine turning off in the drive way. “Its Kathleen she’s here early. That’s odd. Oh well, I’ll tell you about it tonight.” I said handing him the glass of red juice. “Bye.” He said as I started for the door. Even though I couldn’t see him I knew he was waving.

CHAPTER 2
As I waited for my eyes to adjust to the light, Kathleen got out of her Eclipse and started to walk towards me with her arms wide open pretending that she was going to give me a hug. I chuckled at her funniness. “Oh you look so pretty today Leona,” she said as she took my backpack off my shoulder, “your eyes just pop out when you wear that golden blouse with your rhine stone jeans, ah and just look at your hair its blond roots with its black, red, and pink highlights oh I wish I was as pretty as you are.” She and I both laughed as we got in her car. “J/k I know you would never wear anything like that, but what you are wearing is gorgeous, I mean, jus look at your black blouse with a gold tint, ah and your black jeans combined with the silver studded belt, nice touch by the way, but I still wish I was as pretty as you are.” I blushed at her kind words. “Oh don’t say that you know that you’re the prettiest girl at school with your black lips and black hair oh and don’t forget your outfit. How much prettier you look in your black corset top and your cute black miniskirt and your black and white striped leggings, I wish I looked like you.” She started to cry, but then she wiped them away and blushed.

On the way to school we stopped by the store and bought some doughnuts for breakfast I mean you wouldn’t catch me dead eating breakfast at school ugh it tastes like dog food…do not ask how I know what that tastes like. Well I had started to get worried that we wouldn’t get to school on time but then we pulled into the schools parking lot. “At least the ‘popular’ kids haven’t yet to arrive.” I said almost sounding relieved. There were many different cliques and like all high schools there were the populars, the Goths, which is the group that Kathleen and I belong to, and many many other groups including the in-betweens. How am I surviving high school? I don’t know. I just go though life hoping that someday my wish will come true.

CHAPTER 3
“Isn’t it ironic how we got stuck with the two darkest of all demons as our science partners?” Asked Miorella, she’s the preppiest girl in the popular group and at school. “What do you want we already made a deal that Leona and I will do all the work if you and ah? What’s your name?” Kathleen asked her partner in preppy crime. “It’s Elizabeth, why do you care.” she said in a rude tone of voice. “Well excuse me I was trying to finish my sentence. Well what I was trying to say was that we had a deal that you and Miorella would leave us alone if we did all the work on the project.” Kathleen said in an argumentative way. “Just leave them alone, they don’t know about the powers we have to make their lives a living hell.” I hissed at them. “Oh don’t worry, cause we have some major connections that would help us make your lives a living hell.” Oh no she doesn’t think she can you a backfire hell against me. “Well it seems as though you’re already aboard the S.S Hell one way down no way up.” I was fuming after what she said next. “Well you could just drag me there since it seems you’ve already visited there and found a nice new home under a rock!” I was ready to pounce on her if our teacher hadn’t told us to sit down. And unfortunately my teacher gave me a seat that is right next to the biggest science geek. I almost cried but I couldn’t, long story.

“Okay class today we are going to start our individual projects. You have to write and explain why you believe in a myth so much you think that it is real.” Mrs. Dill announced. Once she said that my eyes widened and so I shot my hand up as fast as I could wishing that I was the first one to be called on. But luck was against me. A boy named Jacoby who was almost as stupid as a wooden post had his hand up before me. And reluctantly Mrs. Dill called his name out with a sigh. “So when you say myth do you mean a real myth or a past myth?” He asked. “What I meant was a myth that scientist have not yet been proven a truth or a bunch of BS, you know what I’m sayin’?” Everybody laughed at her attempt to be cool, even me and after the laughter died down, I still had my hand up high in the air. When Mrs. Dill saw my hand she was happy and let it show by smiling. I didn’t raise my hand all that often in class because I’m usually daydreaming. “Yes…um Leona right?” She asked me as if she met me yesterday but then got drunk and almost forgot it. “Yes, my name is Leona. Um Mrs. Dill when you say myth do vampires count?” I asked hoping she would say yes. And this time luck was on my side. “Why yes of course I mean it’s not like their real or anything why would you ask a silly question like that?” She asked me back with a worried look upon her aged face. She gave her worried face to people when they aren’t making any sense as I looked around the room I saw that everybody’s eyes were on me except Kathleen’s. She was staring at the boy who walked in just that moment. He was wearing a black 30 Seconds to Mars T shirt and his black jeans had chains and a studded belt, he was unheard and unseen except by Kathleen of course. “Um is this science 101? And are you Mrs. Dill?” he asked looking at the teacher. “Yes, you have the right room,” she said with her worried face now fixed upon him. “Might I ask who you are?” “Ah there you are lad.” just then the principal came in and placed his hand on the kids shoulder. “Its like he’s been here before. He already knows where most of his classes are don’t you Caleb?” Oh so that’s what his name is? Cool we got a new student! We haven’t gotten a new student in ages.

CHAPTER 4
Ah, lunch, the limited amount of time we have to go outside and enjoy that breeze of fresh air on your face. Earlier I had seen Caleb walking around in the hall way before I headed up to the school’s rooftop, mine and Kathleen’s lunch hangout. Caleb has already been known through out the land of Crenshaw Junior High, home of the fighting crows. He wasn’t exactly friends or enemy with the drunks and he wasn’t always goofballing around the math geeks and he sure wasn’t hanging out with the popular kids. But most of the lunch period he had spent with the skaters. “So how did you do on your science test?” I asked Kathleen. She didn’t answer. “Did you get a B an A or what?” I asked but she only made a sound that was like a sigh. “Huh? Oh sorry I wasn’t paying attention.” her eyes never left that something (or someone) that she was staring at so I decided to follow her gaze. When It ended I realized there was a boy entering the cafeteria with empty trays that I can assure you were not all his, it was Caleb. “Isn’t he so cute and so nice to his friends?” Kathleen asked me. I didn’t say anything even though we both knew he was a major cutie, but something just didn’t feel right about him. And not saying anything got her attention. “So you don’t think he’s cute?” she asked this time with the worried face plastered onto her face. “Of course he’s cute but when I get near him it seems as though he’s giving off good and bad vibes. I just can’t tell which one he gives off more of.” I wasn’t lying. You know how sometimes your head tells you yes but your vibes are saying no? I always go with my vibes and so does Kathleen except it’s actually mine she goes with. Sometimes I wonder if she even has vibes. “Oh no if your good vibe bad vibe meter is going off I think I’ll stay away for a little while before getting close to him.” We both just laughed. She looked back at the door then looked at my hair. “What? Do I have something in my hair?” I asked gliding my hands through my hair. “No I’m just wondering why you won’t get your hair done like the way you want it to be, short and black with red, purple, and pink highlights?” she asked. She was right, ever since we were kids I told her that I wanted to completely change my hair color to black and then add red, pink, and purple highlights, and every now and again there might be some green. “Well actually I haven’t been telling you the truth I am actually going to get my hair done tomorrow.” I turned away expecting a mad Kathleen but she surprised me as much as I had surprised her. “Well I haven’t been telling you the truth either. Well the truth is, I spoke to your mom last night around sunset and well she asked if I wanted to take you to get your hair done and that’s why I asked you the question because I thought you didn’t know about the surprise.” She said. This time she was the one who turned around expecting a full on mad blast attack. “You talked to my mom? You actually talked to my mom? She never talks to anyone except our family.” I said wanting to get home and wake up my mom so I could ask her what she was doing talking to my friends. “Yea so what? Big deal.” she said. Just then the second period lunch bell rang so we couldn’t chat anymore.

I thought I was dreaming when he walked into my reading class not only did we have science together but we also had reading this is so omg worthy. Oh no the preppy side of me is coming out. After Mr. Malfoy introduced Caleb to everybody who hadn’t met him yet he gave him a seat. Once he looked at the seating chart he noticed only one seat was empty and that was the one to the right of me. Right next to me! “Hi,” he said. At first I didn’t notice him talking or I thought he was talking to some other person positioned to his right or behind him but then he spoke again. “Hi, aren’t we in science together? Or was that some other blonde haired golden eyed girl?” I looked over at him. “Oh I’m sorry were you talking to me? I wasn’t paying attention I was thinking about what my friend said.” it was true I was thinking about something Kathleen had said. And also what my other friend Cora had said. “It’s okay I was just wondering if you were that girl sitting in the middle of the science room, next to the girl with the black hair and black lipstick?” he asked. “Oh yes that was I. And of course you would have seen me the first time you came in. Everybody says I’m the first one they see when they walk into a room or building.” I said remembering a party my mom and I went to after sunset. “Why wouldn’t they I mean some one as beautiful as you, they couldn’t miss even if they were blind.” we both blushed so he decided to change his words “I mean beautifully prepared for everything I mean you have a partner for science and a book for reading,” He said trying to see the name of my book. I decided to hide it under my sleeve. I was reading a book called vampire kisses and so I didn’t want him to think that I was a freak for reading vampire books like everyone else other than my family and Kathleen. “And I’m sure you probably have a calculator for math.” he finished. “Now that’s where you’re wrong I do not have a calculator. For math, I have a brain, fingers, paper, and pencil. No calculators.” I said and I wasn’t lying I never really believed in calculators, the work out your fingers get when you type in the numbers. “I don’t really like the way they work. I mean you come to school to learn not to use a calculator for solving any questions you have problems on.” I felt so comfortable talking to him that it felt like my vibes had just vanished. Caleb smiled the brightest smile I had ever seen before in my life and made me blush. BRING! BRING! BRING! Went the school bell saying go home leave woof bark stay away and don’t come back until tomorrow.

CHAPTER 5
well how do I put it? I talked to him and my vibes didn’t go off I guess it means we’re okay to talk and hangout with him. Right? “Hey wait up!” Who said that? I thought. I turned around to see Caleb running after me like I was meat and he was a starving dog. What should I do? What should I do? “Hey,” he said it was too late to leave he was already standing beside me but how? He was so far behind me. I asked myself. “Hey is there a problem?” I asked him hoping there wasn’t. “Yeah, I think you accidentally got my work cause this paper says your name. And what a pretty name you have, Leona.” I blushed when he said that then remembered that I had his so I dropped down to one nee and rummaged through my backpack in search for my binder. “I have to many things in here all it is, is writings and drawings I love drawing. Ah-ha here it is.” I said pulling out my binder. “Good thing everything in here is nice and neat” I said gently tapping my nails on the front of my binder. I looked under reading and there it was Caleb’s paper. “Here I’m sorry I grabbed the wrong one I wasn’t looking I was thinking about my friend Cora.” uh oh I think I said too much. “Cora? Does this girl go here?” he asked pointing at the school. “No she’s a friend of my family.” I realized that my vibes were coming back both good and bad. I realized it was time to get out of there. “Bye” I said waving my hand and heading towards the corner. “Wait!” he said running up next to me “May I give you a lift home?” he asked. I was shocked he’s the new kid and he’s offering to give me a ride home now I’m really getting scared but if it hadn’t of been for my vibes I would’ve said no and walked onwards towards Kathleen’s house. My vibes were cooling on the bad side and now was basically only good. “Are you sure?” I asked him. “Yes I’m positive, it would be my pleasure.” He answered as only a gentleman would and his smile again almost made me breathless. “Its not that far I’m actually going to a friend’s house.” I told him and it was true like I had already stated. Every day after school I go over to Kathleen’s house to talk about the gossip mongrels and whatever new thing they were starting now. “So which way am I turning?” Caleb asked waiting at a stop sign for the elementary kids to pass; we were riding in his blue camaro. “Um you need to turn to the left. I think.” I said hoping I was right. “How can you not know the way to your friend’s house?” he asked with a chuckle in his throat. “Hey don’t laugh I don’t usually drive there I usually walk so it’s kinda hard to remember which way to turn but I do know that the house is bright yellow, but her window is red.” I answered his question as quick as possible as to not be humiliated. “Um is it that one?” he asked pointing straight at her house. “Yeah but how did you know…oh wait that’s right it’s the only one with a red window.” we both laughed as I got out and thanked him. “Thanks for the ride Caleb see you in science tomorrow.” “No problem.” he said but as I turned to wave at him, he and his camaro were gone. “Wow that was weird.” I said not realizing Kathleen’s mom was standing at the front door. “What’s weird honey?” She asked. “Oh nothing.” I said walking in and heading straight for Kathleen’s room.

As I got closer to Kathleen’s door I could hear her stereo turned on low and she was listening to her 30 Seconds to Mars cd. Of course. They’re her favorite band. She has posters of Jared Leto in his ‘The Kill’ outfit on all of her walls. “Knock! Knock! Let me in let me in or I’ll blow your door down.” I said in a low voice. We both laughed as she came to open her door. “Oh no please don’t not on the hairs of my chinney chin chin. Oh wait I don’t have any hair on my chin.” We both laughed again then she invited me into her room closing the door behind her. “So what have you overheard Sergeant Kathleen?” I asked in a matter of voice trying to make it seem as though we were in enemy territory while in the middle of a war. “Okay. Okay enough with the joking around.” she said this time she sounded serious so I stopped playing around and listened. “Okay well I heard that Caleb likes vampires, dragons, and ninjas just like us. So I was thinking how about we try adding another person to the Goths?” “Well all I know so far is that he’s kind, sweet, generous, and that he drives an awesome Camaro.” oops I think I said too much I thought covering my mouth. “How do you know if he’s kind, sweet, generous, and that he drives a camaro?” she asked I blushed and moved my hands away from my mouth. “Well he also knows where you live. Now.” I said with a small giggle. “What? How? What did you do?” she asked still being interrogative. “Okay I’ll tell you the truth we have reading together and well he sorta kinda called me beautiful but then he changed it to beautifully prepared. And when we accidentally got our papers mixed up he didn’t get mad or anything he just ran up to me while I was waiting at the cross walk and he asked for his paper and then gave me mine. Oh and I know that he drives a camaro because he offered to give me a ride home. But when I told him that I was going to your house he seemed a tad bit sad then he said that it would be his pleasure to give me a ride. And that’s how he knows where you live.” I giggled but Kathleen didn’t. I knew that she was a bit tense since he knew where and how to get to her house now. And since she liked him before she likes him a whole lot more now. “You actually told him how to get here?” Kathleen managed to squeak out without shouting. “Well…I didn’t want to. It’s just that his bad vibes disappeared after I started talking to him.” I began, “And for some reason I didn’t want to leave him he just kept pulling me closer to him as if…as if he…as if he was…oh no I’ve got to get home and quick. I’m just happy I came here and didn’t go home.” I finished in a slight whisper. “What but you just got here and we still haven’t discussed everything I still have some dish but on Anton, Kutcher. You can’t leave.” Kathleen whined. “I know I just got here and all but I have to get home immediately.” I paused to think if I was just jumping to conclusions or if I was right about him. “Well I’m sorry but I have to talk to my mom.” She didn’t seem happy about it but then she said “Fine but tomorrow you have to stay one hour extra. And you have to bring spider-shaped chocolate chip cookies as well.” she said with a smirk. She could always get whatever she wanted by using persuasion. “Fine and I’ll do something out of pure kindness. I’ll tell Caleb that you think he’s cute.” She stood silent for a minute or two then she said, “Don’t you dare if you do I’ll be so mad at you I’ll…I’ll…okay I wont do anything I’ll just be mad a lot.” We both giggled then said our ‘goodbye’s’ and our ‘see you tomorrow’s’ then I started the semi-long walk home.

CHAPTER 6
why does it seem as though time goes slower when you have nothing to concentrate on? Why does the sun rise quickly yet it lowers so slowly? Why do people ask questions to themselves and why do people talk to themselves? Like I am basically doing right now, except I’m not talking out loud. Only one more turn to the left and here I g…oh no please no I thought as I turned the corner. Sitting out in front of my house was a black ford with purple under lights and silver flames and there was only one person I know who would actually have a truck like that and that is Matt Hilcoms. He was a drunk. He was the first guy I ever had a crush on. He would always come to school looking like he was wasted even though he never was. But why would he be here at my house? “Hi Leona.” Matt said. “What’s crack a lakin?” he asked. “Nothing you and what are you doing here?” I asked back. “Same. I just came by to say hi…hey that rhymes!” he said. Matt you’re such a loser. I thought in my head. “Oh ok then well you said hi so bye.” I said heading for my house. He grabbed me by the arm and pulled me in close. I thought he was going to try to kiss me but then he said. “You have got to get a phone so I may call you.” he let me go and opened the driver’s side door, slid inside then drove away. Okay. I was so scared, I thought he was actually going to kiss me but I knew that it wasn’t like him to kiss a girl not even when he was drunk would he just kiss some girl that happens to be walking by. He is a true man he will only kiss his girlfriend and his family. I walked up and unlocked the door.

“Hellooo.” I said in a semi-whisper checking to see if anyone was lurking in the shadows. It was nearly sunset when I heard some movements coming from downstairs in the basement. First was my mom and dad then out came Ayen with Auron trailing behind. “So how was your sleep everybody?” I asked. “Fine. I dreamt about being hung upside down by that Matt fellow you talk about so much.” said Auron. “Mine was awesome. I dreamt that you got turned by a friend of the family’s that we had not seen in forever.” Ayen stated happily. None of my friends know about my family being vampires not even Kathleen. “Hi dad,” I began as he walked in, “So did you have any nice dreams?” “Yes I was dreaming about the day that I met your mother and we shared our first drink.” He answered. “Oh Nathaniel you always had a big memory. It’s big enough for the both of us.” my mom told him. “Wait what do you mean for the both of us? Alexis? Alexis are you telling me that you forgot our first encounter?” “No honey I just forgot what we had to drink. Did we share the Bloody Mary or Blood of Monkey?” “We had the Shirley Temple of Blood.” “Oh thanks honey for reminding me.” My dad headed for the pantry and got out three blood-filled amulets. Ick! How could they drink that stuff? “Do you want to come?” my dad asked. Hmm it sounds like fun but then again I have a lot of homework that needs to be done. Oh what the heck. “Sure but who’s going to carry me?” I asked. “I will since I am the strongest out of the two of us.” Auron said. “Awww can’t I carry her?” asked Ayen. “I’m sorry son but your brother has a point he is the strongest of you both and you know that your mom and I will not be with you.” My Dad stated. “Oh its okay Ayen someday you’ll be as strong as Auron.” I said to Ayen trying to make him happier. And it worked. “Thanks sis.” Ayen said. “Don’t worry guys I’ll carry come amulets incase you run out of that one, Auron.” I said looking at Auron who had already started drinking his. “What I’m starving can we just go already?” He asked. “Fine come on kids.” My dad commanded. We headed towards the backyard then we took flight.

CHAPTER 7
we were flying over Riverdale high when I saw it. It was sticking out of an alley with its lights on. “Hey guys what’s that over there and why would it have lights?” I shouted so that they could hear me. They both looked over to where I was pointing then flew above the two buildings. “Hey,” I said in a whisper, “is that what I think it is?” the vehicle had a white line on it’s side and a blue under light with a white fin. “It can’t be, but why would he be here?” Ayen heard me and flew over to where Auron had placed me. “Why would who be here?” he asked me. I looked up at him wondering how good his hearing could be. “It’s just that the car looks so familiar to me it looks like it belongs to a friend of mine but I’m wondering why he would be here.” I told him. Oh it’s probably a different color then his. “Would you go down there and tell me what color it is?” I asked him. He looked at me in his worried face then flew down to check it out. He heard noises coming from behind the dumpster so he stayed in the same place for a little while then turned to face the car to realize it was blue. He took flight so he could go to the other side of the alley to see what was making the racket that was coming from behind the dumpster but found nothing not even a cat. “Odd I could’ve sworn I heard something. He flew up to where I was hiding as to not be seen by another vampire. “It’s blue but why would you care?” I stood there silent with my mouth wide open. But it couldn’t be could it? “It’s because that’s exactly what my friend’s car looked like it was blue with a white line and blue under lights with a fin.” I finally blurted out but not so loud that any one but Ayen could hear. “What is this guy’s name?” Ayen asked me. But it couldn’t be could it? No it could but why? But how? “His name is Caleb but why would he be out this late?” I said. “Hey I heard that name before but I just can’t remember where.” he started blabbing on about his encounters with vampires and clubs. Then we heard it. Then faint sound of an engine starting then we heard the engine start but the vehicle never left the alley. “Hey how about we follow the car wherever it goes?” I asked Ayen. “Are you crazy who knows where it’s heading?” He told me. “Yes I am crazy now come on I’m gonna get your brother. Now where did he go?” I held my hands up above my head and waited for Auron to arrive. Auron flew over, grabbed my hands, and then we took flight.

We waited a few more minutes then we saw the car leave. We followed the beautiful blue car all the way to Elmberwood St. the worst and most darkest street in the city. I think it’s the most beautiful sight I’ve ever seen, I love it. I know most parents wouldn’t let their children even come near this street nor would any parent come near this street. So how come this boy or girl is here? They can’t possibly live here can they? You have to be like a vampire in order to see in that mist and fog and stuff…right? Hmm. “Hey where did they go?” I asked out loud. “I don’t know well anyways its almost midnight and you’ve got to get some sleep for tomorrow.” Auron said. “Oh do we have to head home right now?” Me and Ayen said at the same time. “Yes, first off because Leona needs to get some sleep and Mom and dad are calling us.” “They are?” Ayen asked. I shook my head. “Yes, and obviously your vampire hearing hasn’t fully blown in.” Ayen stuck his tounge out at Auron. “Hey don’t blame me ok it’s not my fault that you haven’t yet to reach your vampire puberty.” I started laughing my butt off. “Hey don’t laugh so much you’ll make me drop you.” I just laughed some more. But then, he dropped me Auron dropped me. I was freaking out because we were eight stories high in the air. “Help!” I screamed at the top of my lungs. Auron flew towards me but then I stopped screaming. I was rising and mighty fast I might add. “It’s okay little girl I got you.” A vampire said to me. And a male I thought because of his voice. “Who are you?” I asked him. “My name is Aaris.” “Oh I’ve never heard of you before.” I said baffled. “Oh so you know about the vampire world and pretty much everybody in it?” he asked me. “Yes, now please put me down.” “Now why would I do that? I would be missing out on a beautiful feast upon your delicious smelling blood.” I started to scream but he just covered my mouth and flew away towards the dark street. “Auron!! Ayen!!” I mumbled. “Shut up you idiotic little girl.” “No I will not.” I continued to mumble. “You will, ah-ha there’s a good place to land.” He said as we floated to the ground. “Let me go!” I mumbled even louder hoping to get Auron’s or Ayen’s attention. “It’s hopeless. I, I mean we lost them in the darkness far back.” He released his grip around my mouth. “You rotten hoe bag.” I screamed as loud as I could. “Shut up or you’ll attract even more vampires. And we don’t want that to happen, now do we, beautiful?” “I don’t care my brothers will come and rescue me from your evil clutches.” I yelled. “No they wont because you will be dead by the time they get here so shut up about them rescuing you.” He gave a menacingly evil laugh. “Shut up and let go of me.” He had one arm around my waist the other holding my head making it so where I could see his horrible and ugly pimpled face. “But I don’t want to I don’t like my blood boiling I like it 99.6 degrees hot. That’s the most delicious kind.” He smiled revealing his long vampire teeth. He leaned in but instead of turning my head so he could bite me and suck my blood he kissed me! I mean fully kissed me on the lips! I tried to move my arms to push him away but he just held me even tighter and harder which if he wasn’t caring to make sure I wasn’t bruised it would’ve hurt but it didn’t. He stopped kissing me. “Wow little missy you are a wonderful kisser maybe I should take you to a cemetery instead of sucking your blood.” “No thanks I’ll take my blood being sucked over being married to you for all eternity.” I said with a smirk. “Oh well just means more blood can be sucked out of you.” I flinched at the words, ‘more blood,’ it made me want to regurgitate my lunch. “Don’t you dare even think about drinking my blood.” I said with a scowl.” “Don’t worry I stopped thinking about it a long time ago now I’m about to suck your blood.” He leaned in and turned my head the other way. “Ow!” he howled in pain. “What magic is this? This pain I have in my chest?” He asked as he fell to his knees releasing me. “I can’t smell?” he tried sniffing the air, “Nothing? My vision is fading, I can’t see, everything’s dark.” He fell forward so I jumped to the side. “Aaris? You horrible creature? Are you alive?” I whispered as I leaned over his motionless body.

“He is dead now that I’ve shot him.” A familiar voice said. I looked around but didn’t see him anywhere. “Where are you?” I asked into the open. “You can not see me I will not let you. I’ve been watching you two for a while now trying to make sure I didn’t hit you with the bullet. Waiting for the right moment.” “Oh and so now would be it he nearly drank my blood.” “Yes, nearly but he didn’t now did he?” “No he didn’t but I was still a bit frightened.” “Ah, as I can see. I will call your brothers.” “How do you know I have brothers? And why won’t you show your face to me?” I asked. “I will not show my face because I can not. I have sworn to secrecy that the rescued nor the killed will be able to see my face. And I know you have brothers because I was watching you.” I looked around and continued to search for him. “What will happen if some one was to see your face?” I asked him. “Nothing as long as I do not show them my face willingly I am fine and as long as they do not recognize my face or any other parts of my body.” After he finished that sentence he let out a low whisper which obviously meant Ayen and Auron were not as far away as Aaris predicted they were. “So if I was to see you and recognize you what will you do?” “I wouldn’t want to do anything but if I since I would have to I would have to swipe your memory of the past few minutes or so. Oh and I would stay away from that evil creature it will start decomposing at any time.” He was still whistling so I decided to follow it. Every time I felt I was on the brink of discovering where he was the whistling would come from a different direction. But the whistling would always turn to the left of me. I put it all together realizing that he wouldn’t be out in the woods or plains, he would be above me. But how? “So what are you?” I asked him. “I am basically the same thing he was.” He said most likely gesturing towards the dead decomposing body of Aaris that lay flat on the floor. I decided that it wouldn’t hurt to ask what he meant by ‘basically’ “So you aren’t exactly a vampire?” “Correct.” “So then what else could you be?” “Um let me think. There is a half vampire so where I was turned which means I could never become a full vampire none of my basic vampire bonuses will come in fully, um I could be a demon that feeds on flesh and blood, or I could be a day walker which most people and vampires think are just myths. But I believe in them. Do you?” “Yes I do believe in them but the truth is I think you are one. I think you are a day walker who actually has better hearing, sight, smell, and pretty much everything else plus one thing, which is being able to walk in the daylight.” “Wow you sure do know a lot about vampires and day walkers.” Just then I heard leaves rustling in the dark. “Leona? Leona where are you?” It was Auron. “Leona please let us know that, that horrible creature didn’t hurt you.” Ayen said. “It’s okay I’m fine I think I was rescued.” I saw them heading towards me from my right. “Rescued? By who by what?” Auron asked me. “Some one he didn’t give his name but I do have some info on him.” Just then I heard the sound of an engine starting up in the short distance. “Sweet dreams beautiful. And you were right I am a day walker.” The familiar voice said again. “Did you guys hear that?” I said out loud. “Hear what sis’?” Auron asked greeting me with a big hug. Ayen gave me an even bigger hug than Auron did. “Yeah, what were we supposed to hear?” he asked still hugging me. “What y’all didn’t hear it? But, you guys have super good hearing?” “I guess your just hearing things sis’.” Auron said jokingly. Was I just hearing stuff? Or did my savior really say that? “I think it’s about time we get home don’t y’all think?” I asked them. “Yup, come on lift up your hands so I can pick you up off the ground.” Auron said. We flew straight home and didn’t bother stopping to look in any alley for anything or anyone.

“What took y’all so long?” My dad asked us. “We were worried sick about you,” my mom said, “Haven’t you heard about the new vampire hunter?” “Yes mom we had but, we kinda got side tracked thanks to Leona.” Auron said trying to sound like a responsible adult. “Excuse me; we didn’t get side tracked because of me we got side tracked because you failed to hang onto me tightly.” I argumented back at him. “You’re the one who decided to laugh so hard you made me drop you.” “You dropped her!!” mom yelled. “Just a little bit.” He said. “I don’t care you still dropped my baby girl. Approximately how high up were you?” she asked. “Eight stories high.” I blurted out. “Shut up.” Auron whispered through clenched teeth. “Don’t you tell my darling little girl to shut up. Why don’t you shut up and just explain to me what happened after you dropped her.” “Well she started to fall and she was about three stories high when she was caught.” Ayen said. Auron gave a small ‘innocent’ smile. “She was caught by who by what?” she asked in an angry tone of voice. “By a vampire mom,” I said, “His name was Aaris. And he did something so gross.” “What did he do to you Leona?” my dad asked finally seeing the concern in the situation. “He…” I started to cry. “He kissed me on the lips.” I said with a quivering lip. “And then he joked about how I was a good kisser and that he should take me to a cemetery instead. But then he changed his mind and said that he could drink more blood if he decided to kill me. But, then as he leaned to bite me he was well… shot.” “Shot by who?” My dad asked. “I don’t know his name but I do know that he was watching us. He told me he was. And then he told me that the deceased body was going to start decomposing at any time. And he was whistling to get Auron and Ayen to come over so we could come home.” “Are you sure it was so you could come home and not so he could kill your brother?” mom asked. “Yes I’m sure because if he had wanted to kill them then he could’ve while we were hovering in the air for that short time.” “Uh-huh.” Dad said sounding disbelieving. “Its true oh and mom, dad, you know how people talk about mythical ‘day walker vampires’ right?” “Yes.” They said at the same time looking at each other confused. “Well that’s what he was, I mean is.” “He’s what?” Mom said. “Honey, now don’t get me wrong ‘bout this but don’t you think you’re going a bit to far with this experience? I think you’ve been out to long and so your dreaming.” Dad said. “No dad it’s the truth he told me himself.” “Oh and did he also show you his true identity?” he asked. “No, he said he couldn’t but that’s only because he’s a vampire hunter.” “Now why would people hire a vampire to hunt vampires?” dad asked. “I don’t know dad its just the truth.” “Okay, okay, okay honey, Leona, lets just discuss this tomorrow night okay? You need to rest Leona because tomorrow is Friday and you still have school. Oh and Leona, your ‘sister’ Cora is coming tomorrow night so be prepared to hang out with her all night long and the weekend nights okay?” I smiled brightly. “She’s coming to visit?” I asked excitedly. “Yes now go to bed okay and don’t forget your salon date with Kathleen.” “Don’t worry mom I could never forget about that. Thank you.” I walked out of the room past two frozen solid idiot brothers who just stood there confused and amazed at how marvelously detailed I had told my story. “Goodnight guys.” I said toying with them.

CHAPTER 8
BRING! BRING! BRING! Wohoo! Today’s gonna be fun, first fun hair time with Kathleen then fun vampire time with Cora! I decided to wear something really cute today. A red and black corset top with a black mini-skirt, long gothic purple leggings, a studded belt, and last and so cute an evil care bear clipped onto my belt loop. Where is Kathleen we are gonna be late for school. Just then her blue eclipse drove up in front of me. “Sorry I’m late,” she said as she rolled down the passenger side window, “I had to drop off my older sister, Megan, at college.” I rolled my eyes. “It’s okay I started to think something bad happened.” I joked. “Well actually something did happen last night. It wasn’t exactly bad nor good.” She said. I stared at her for a little while then asked her, “What happen did someone die? Did you get hurt?” “No I didn’t get hurt and nobody died. I kinda did magic.” She gave an innocent chuckle. I stared at her in disbelief. “You did what? How?” I asked her. “I did magic. And I don’t know how. I just… okay do you want the whole story?” “Yes I want the whole story I would be crazy if I didn’t.” “Okay well here’s what happened. I was driving home from my other friend’s house because I tried calling you and you weren’t home so I gave up. Okay so ya then out of no where a cat ran into the middle of the road. And…I…ran over it. Or at least I thought I did.” She got out of the car and came to my side to tell me to my face. “I got out of the car and ran to its side. I felt for a pulse but didn’t find one then I started wishing it was alive that it would be okay and then I started crying. Then after a minute or so it all of a sudden jumped up and started rubbing against my leg so I petted it. Now look.” I looked inside her car where she indicated with her hand. There sitting in my seat was a little black cat staring up at me with green eyes. “Oh my god. How did you? How did this? I just can’t believe it.” “Me neither. But hop in we need to get to school.” The song ‘Every Time we Touch’ came on from out of no where. “What is that?” I asked being the first one to hear. “Oh it’s Megan, I wonder why she’s calling.” She answered her phone. And put it on loudspeaker. “Hey sis,” Megan said. “I got your message about what happened and I need to tell you something.” “Hey Megan.” Kathleen and I said at the same time. “Oh, hey Leona how’s you know what about you know who’s?” “Oh its all good except for what happened last night but I’ll tell you later.” I said. “Tell her what about who? Wait why am I not in this conversation?” Kathleen asked. “Nothing Kathleen I’ll tell you when I can trust you more and you can trust me more or if you find out on your own.” “Okay girls lets get back to what I was saying before. Leona did Kathleen tell you what happened this morning?” “Yes she did.” “Well Kathleen, Leona there is a secret to our family tree.” “What secret?” Kathleen asked. “Well Kathleen, you know how you’ve always had a feeling that you are a ‘blood witch’ and that you have magical powers, well you are excuse me, I mean we are.” I could see the shock in Kathleen’s face. I mean she literally zoned out. “AAAAHHHHH!!!” we were driving off path onto a dirt road that had no opening. “Kathleen!” I shouted. She heard her name and looked up at the road. “AAAAAHHHH!! I wish we were at school!!!” she said. And in a matter of seconds we were in the parking lot where the popular kids usually were parked. “Oh my gosh, what just happened?” I asked. “I think I just did magic.”
