Love at first sight..
Love at first sight, a Valentines day story.

The crescent moon was rather bright out that night, giving just enough light to see the face of my first love. We met on that island, I was still young then just hitting 21. Running through the trees, the grass and dirt kicking behind my shoes, I followed his scent. I knew he was close, I had been following him for a few days now, I had the feeling he knew I was around. So what was the point of hiding. I sat in a tree and watched him, cooking a raw fish in a small fire for what seemed like a little fox. He was so compassionate, so sweet to take care of something so small and helpless, but what he used to protect this girl is what I first sought.

"Why are you following me..?"

Those were his first words, obviously he was acknowledging my presents so I had no choice but to come out. I can admit, at first his deep, low voice was threatening, but I would never let something like that back me down. I stepped from behind the tree.

"I've been watching you for quite some time. You have some very impressive moves."

He seemed uninterested, that was when I spotted the silver wedding band across his finger. I held my feelings back...seeming emotionless to this I continued with an introduction.

"I'm Rool Nayoto, I followed you because I wish to fight you..."

He took a quick look over towards me, examining my body. His eyes seemed to stay on my abs, if not that then my tattoo of a cross. His eyes then met mine. The small fox girl he was with looked terrified, her eyes watering with fear. She was so small and helpless there was nothing she could do. She seemed like a mute. As I was staring, he began to talk, his voice slightly startling me.

"I'm sorry, now isn't the time."

Somehow I saw this coming, but I wouldn't let it stop me from fighting him.

"You have no choice."

I replied, now shifting my feet to dash towards him. He reacted much faster than I thought. He was already standing, and moving forward. I stopped to get ready for the first strike. Twisting my body, I lead my leg for the first kick. I was expecting him to dodge. I only meant for this fight to be a sparing matching. Nothing harmful. As expected he ducked under my kick, coming up with an upper cut. I moved back after recovering from the kick. Judging from the force of his uppercut, he wasn't going to hold back strength wise. I braced by body for any impact before coming back with another attack.

Our fight went on for about an hour before even I grew tired. He was as tough as I thought he would be, but I could tell he was as tired as I was. We were panting heavily, simultaneously.
"Please stop!"
A shrieking voice screamed from behind a tree beside us. The small fox girl wasn't mute after all. She didn't seem to like the concept of fighting one bit, either it be verbal or physical. With my feelings towards children, I let my guard down along with my opponent.

This was when we first met...since that fight my feelings for him grew stronger.

Many months pasted since then, we seemed to have drawn closer...even after the day his wife died. There was nothing I could do, but what was unexpected to me was that he didn't dive into depression. He boosted himself rather than break into a suffering mass and a cluttered mind...then again it could be only a mask. I never knew too much about his past, this could have been what stopped him from feeling so much pain. I was afraid to ask...then again I wasn't too fond of speaking about my past either.
We fought so much together, he taught me things as did I, but...finally one night I decided to fess up to how I felt towards him. Everyone was asleep, I myself couldn't sleep a wink. I sat against a tree across from him, gazing into those crimson eyes. He gazed back. With a sincere smile and a blush across my freckles, I crawled over slowly. Now close enough where there was only but an inch or two between us. He leaned over and pressed my lips against his. It was like a dream...the reality of it was that it WAS an actual dream. I dozed off while I was in a train of thought. It was rather careless of me. It was a day of judgment the next day, it was deciding the fate of...well, honestly I never knew. None of us did, it was only a gut feeling of a plan brewing. Fortunately we had another team to join our side.

Making it through a long hall way of what seemed to be a headquarters of some organization, we came to a four way fork. We had no option to split up, as much as I wanted to stay close, putting my emotions in first would lead to disaster. I knew he could take care of himself. Before we could part ways...I had to express something.
"D...please stay safe. Ok..?"
I looked up at him, a shade of red showing through my caramel skin. Standing up on the tips of my toes, my heart beating through my chest, my lips pressed against his.
Believe it or not, this was my first kiss. Watching so many movies it comes like an instinct. That single second with him felt as if we were sitting the for hours.
It may sound extremely cheesy if I told you, but this was on Valentines day.

After that day, we parted ways, but it wasn't long until we came back together.
Today we currently live together, along with his sister in law...I'm happy with this.

Happy Valentines day!
