A ribbon was wrapped around my throat, a ribbon as black as polished obsidian and as sharp as a freshly made sword. It dug itself deeper into my flesh as I struggled, making the ruby droplets run down bear breasts. My heart beat wildly, like a rabbit's while it ran from the hungry wolf, knowing that it's life would soon end. I felt like that rabbit, and I knew that if I did not get that simple little ribbon off of me, I would die from sheer blood loss.
I let out a gasp as I flung myself upwards , the sounds of my deep intakes of air me falling to the floor broke the silence like it was mere glass against a hammer. My Father, woken by the sudden noises, ran into the room to see what had his daughter so distraught. There I was, gasping for air, blood staining my white under dress, without a scratch on me. Though logic told him I had simply started my time of the month, years of superstition and fear, plus the fact that the blood stain was near my chest, he could only come up with one conclusion.
"WITCH! You shall burn in HELL!" Grabbing me by my arms he flung me upon my bed, before leaving, obviously to get the mayer and the Father.
Fear is a terrible think when it haunts you. It's even more terrifying when it is the fear of your own life that haunts you.
" Will you run?" That voice again when no one was there to speak. But at the moment it was almost a beacon of hope. run? The idea was beyond grand, but not possible. I was stuck within a room with no window, locked up like a crazed animal who knows the flavor of human flesh and only wanted more.
"But how? How can I run when there is no way out?" I heard a long cold laugh. His Laugh? I was in awe and yet I was even more afraid. Was this the laugh of the devil?
