The problem, however, lies within the forum regulars. I don't see being a "reg" as some sort of badge of honor. A reg is someone who posts well, posts often, and has a well-developed opinion about music. If someone can do this, even if I don't like them, they deserve to be accepted among the regulars. Regulars, however, are the deciding factor in how the board operates, and the condition it's in. And this relates to my initial point: the decline in quality.
Who is to blame? The regulars. The new regulars, the old regulars, both, I don't know. Maybe everyone just stopped caring. The problem is, simply, that there is little to no Music discussion in the Music forum.
I know, internet is srs business. I'm not taking it seriously. I just happen to be bored, spend a lot of my bored time posting on the Music forum, and have noticed this. So I am proposing something simple:
- Stop flaming, or at least tone it down.
Post threads about music, whether they be successful or not. Post IN threads about music, and TALK about music. If you see a thread that's being ignored but has potential for discussion, post in it.
If a thread is turning Reg Spam Thread #287522, take it to PMs, or the general thread, or something else.
It's so simple. It's 3 things: Post about music, don't flame, and don't spam excessively. I don't understand what could be simpler.
There are no mods. There are only the regulars. Let's try to make the forum about music again.
