The mental image.
Asylum of the Mind RP starter
Asylum of the Mind

The mind has both amazed and perplexed man for many years, but it was always when a man fell into madness did we take notice. Mankind developed ways to treat this madness, first starting with torture, and eventually moving on to complete isolation. We began to throw pills at our problems, using the freshly contorted minds of the insane as our playgrounds for cerebral study. And as scientific advances occurred we had eventually found a way to enter the mind itself. Scientist could now enter a patients brain and walk through a delusion to locate the center of the problematic activity. The scientific community was thrilled by this discovery, and soon patients with minor problems were being thrown into the machine to be cured. But it was not long before the first death occurred, the man had been a murderous brute that drained his victims of blood and drank it. He of course based this believe on the fact that he would turn to dust if he did not uphold this ritual. When sent in to study the mans mental plain the doctor suffered a mental lapse leading to his gristly murder. Video evidence suggested that he was torn limb from limb in a mental dimension in which he had no defense. And out of fear the scientific community scattered the globe to find those who could combat the mental projections of twisted men.

A agency of trained mental soldiers was set up spanning across the world. The operatives ranged from scientist to some of the bravest the military had to offer. Companies were set up in various places across the world, and profit was to be found in mental cleansing. The agents quickly went to work cleaning the minds of psychopaths and murderers, and for a while everything seemed to be going swimmingly. It was then that a catalyst would tip, causing any chances of continuation to halt immediately. The Wellsworth asylum for the mentally insane was considered to be the biggest asylum in the world, and with mass funding it received many prototype wares for testing. It was that which would bring about their downfall, and not a single soul could foresee the chaos soon to occur. A rather violent inmate was needed to test their newest toy, if it had functioned correctly it would have created a automatic mind link with the agency. Instead it linked both scientist and criminal minds into one nightmarish chain that would span every mental disorder known to man in vivid color. Operatives from around the world were called in to combat this new threat, and only time will tell if such a thing can be accomplished.

Asbeel sat on the seat of a mass transport sent by the American agency to pick them up. He had just shipped in from the European branch like many others on the transport with him. The chatter from the transport was a cocktail of many different accents and languages, all mixing into a satisfying murmur. He sighed producing a beat up pack of cigarettes, finding that his last one had been slightly bent. “Damnit all......” He muttered before sliding it into his lips and lighting it. The smoke filled the end of the transport, and it wasn't long before a higher ranking officer yelled back at Asbeel “Hey you bushy headed b*****d put that out!” He shouted pointing a finger at Asbeel, his face was bright red and he appeared to be very on edge. “Relax.....” Asbeel muttered throwing his last cigarette on the ground and grinding it down with his boot. “You act like we haven't done this before.” He concluded turning his attention to the cold metal across from him. “Do you have any idea what we are dealing with?!? Perhaps if you took your head out of your......” He was cut short as the transport pulled to a sudden stop making him fall into the lap of a rather big male agent. “You were saying?” Asbeel asked walking out the bay door to get a look at the asylum. A flurry of American agents had already set up camp, and it soon became clear that they would be sending them in to attack. Asbeel stood alone watching as many people ran back and fourth attempting to set things up. A voice came over a intercom summoning all active agents to a field on the side of the building, the crowd migrated to the side willingly, the voices of many still chatting soon cut off by the speaker. “Now as you all know we have quite a mess to clean up here.” Announced a higher commander as he stood over the crowd. “We cannot enter the building without our minds being sucked into this nightmarish vortex, so the only other option is to do what we are good at.” The crowd let out a uproar at this comment, despite the fact that their fear was obvious. “To minimize clutter we can only send in two operatives at a time.” Announced the higher up producing a list and reading off two names, the two emerged from the crowd and were taken to the pods. “The rest of you are dismissed until further notice!” Announced the higher up, collectively dispersing the group into the camp.

Asbeel sighed once more as he moved over to the transport and retrieved his gear. His bag was the only one with the Finnish flag, and that came with a haunting tale that would follow him to his grave. Making his way over to the empty grounds he begins work on setting up his own personal camp that was suppose to be for a team. Not wishing to dwell on it he quickly set up his camp and disappeared into his tent for what he believed would be the night. It was dawn when Asbeel was violently woken up by a commanding officer. “Son your next in line.....” He announced looking down grimly as he moved to exit the tent. “What?.....” Asbeel went to ask only to find that he had left already. He sighed gathering up his gear and exiting his tent to find a ghost town had emerged around him. Two officers escorted him into a pod and he went without question, he was the last string of defense, and he could not fail. He looked over to see his partner only to find that the second pod had closed already. The world became black only to cast him into a world of psychotic violence and unending death. A ride through a million nightmares, and he would share it all with someone he did not know. Asbeel was tossed into a forest, the trees all having faces twisted in agony and pain. He quickly looked around for the other agent, ignoring the eyes that stalked him as prey.
