This story is just something I started working on as a project that I knew I wouldn't finish, you've probably done something like that; start writing a random plot when you're bored. Well, that's what I did. But I really like this so I'll prbably continue this. I want to tell you the character's names and meanings. So, here they are.
Samantha Jane: His Name is God Flowery God is Gracious
Sylvia Letitia: Forest Joy
Alec Kade: Defender of the People Sturdy
Bella Graziella: Beautiful Beloved
Jaela Lisa: Wild Mountain Goat God is my Oath
Georgia Julia: Farmer Youthful
Darius Nolan: Upholder of the Good Descendent of the Famous One
Well, that's all I can say. Enjoy.

Samantha Jane Smith stared bleakly at the nine scaly faces before her, all jeering and scowling empty threats at her. The young fifteen-year-old girl feebly took a step forward, her legs violently trembling even more than before that step, the trembling threatened to make her crumple up into a tiny little ball. That one step seemed to change the universe, decide her fate. That one step seemed to make those empty threats become real; the yellow eyes become even more murderous. That one step was the key to what would happen to her and her other ‘friends’.
Those ‘friends’ were just people that she had met in her month in the dark, dank cave those gruesome reptiles had stolen her away too. The victims all had exotic, unique, unusual, or interesting names, those names made Samantha even more conscious of her boring, common name. There was Sylvia Letitia Andies, Darius Nolan Kannde, Jaela Lisa Goare, Bella Graziella Goare, Georgia Julia Garcia, Alec Kade Unia, and her, Samantha Jane Smith. Jaela and Bella were twins, and they were semi-friends with Samantha and Sylvia, but they mostly kept to themselves, or you could say each other.
The children all had a pretty or prettily unusual look about them. That made Samantha even more conscious of her normal looks, she guessed their looks just went with their names and her boring old name went with her boring old face. As you might have already noticed Samantha didn't have high self-esteem. She usually wasn't this bad, but that was only because had a self-enthusiasm coach back on top of the ground that she saw twice a week, she hated those classes, she just didn't understand why she had to feel good about herself. It was her body; she could hate it if she wanted.
Sylvia had long, straight, sienna hair with a fringe with pink and black coloring on the edge. She had a slim figure and was very tall; she towered over everyone, except the creatures. Her skin was medium toned. Her eyes were a muddy brown color and she had unusually long eyelashes. Those eyelashes seemed to be used for fake flirting, she would look at the boy very flirty-like and beckon him to her, then make him do her whims while to boy was under her spell. She reminded Samantha of a spider; she lured flies into her trap. Samantha had seen this technique with her own eyes. The De'garos obviously had more people, one had locked them up. Sylvia had tried to get the boy to unlock her; he was about fifteen, just like every one of the other victims. She had come in a Guitar Hero T-shirt, a pair of black rubber-like material pants, a silver chain belt, and pink and blue high tops.
Bella's hair was curly and blonde; she seemed to be a total girly girl. Her sister, Jaela, seemed to be the total opposite, they both had curly blonde hair that was long. But Bella's was curlier and had bangs and Jaela's was more windblown with side bangs. The twins were very, very short, and they seemed to get very hostile if it was pointed out or even hinted. They had dark, violet eyes that seemed glint and sparkle with light, even when there was just darkness. Their skin was very, very tan and they were extremely beautiful. Both of the girls had and insanely annoying habit of flipping their hair, usually in someone's face. Jaela had come in a white T-shirt that depicted a heart inside of a rib cage, some ripped short-shorts, and a pair of black slip on shoes. Bella had on a blue and black, leopard print, slimming stank top, black, satin shorts, black fishnet leggings, and black high heels. Bella's bold and colorful style rivaled Sylvia's unique style.
Georgia was Hispanic, and pretty too. She had long, dark brown hair that she kept in a pink bow and dark chestnut skin. Her teeth weren't perfect but she smiled in such a way that they did look perfect, it was like an optical illusion. Her eyes were a crisp shade of brown, like newly overturned topsoil; it was completely brown, but it had different bits and pieces of brown here and there. She had strangely colored lips, like what you would get if you mixed mahogany and crimson paint. Her lips were perfectly shaped, smooth, plump and full. She was average height and had an oval face. She had come in a red tank top, a pink and black plaid mini skirt, and some lime green high tops that contrasted well with her baby blue knee socks.
Alec was the most unusual of all, Samantha had mistaken him for a girl when they first entered the cave; he had very delicate and feminine features. He kept quiet mostly. His hair was curly and blonde and he had large lime green eyes. Those eyes were hypnotic and beautiful, Samantha found herself staring into them almost every chance she could get. His figure was frail and tall; he looked delicate, like a flower. His T-shirt was black, thin, and baggy with a Coca-Cola logo on it. He had on black and red checkered Vans and some used-to-be-white socks that were yellow with age. His shorts were denim with a football pin that Samantha could not identify; the shorts stopped about two inches below his knees. He had rosy cheeks and plump, pink lips. His skin was very pale, so pale that a white board looked slightly dark beside him. He had an extremely angular face; his chin was pointed and his face was shaped like an oval.
Darius was very, very masculine. His shirt was a tad too tight so that it showed off his muscles and pretty much all he did was exercise and talk about getting ‘totally pumped’ so that he could ‘dominate those freako-faces’. His hair was auburn and 'totally flippable' in his opinion. He had misty blue eyes and a very prominent and square jaw-line. His body was tanned and he had a solid build. He had an average height and wasn't that skinny, he looked slightly chubby if you didn't notice that the extra weight was pure muscle. For real he was a coward and had a very weak stomach, would throw up at almost anything.
Samantha was average for looks, just as she thought of herself. She had medium brown hair that she kept in a pair of loose piggy-tails. Her cheeks had a tiny bit of a rosy sheen and her skin tone was pale. Her eyes were light brown, kind of on the verge of golden or yellow but still staying brown. She wore some eye makeup that was her skin tone but a little bit lighter. Her height was regular for her age and she was just above average in weight. She tended to be the kind of girl that just got passed by in the hallway, unnoticed. Her clothes were as simple as her looks. Her clothes were consisted of a white, wrinkled tank top, some denim shorts, and the same slip on shoes that Jaela had on.
Each of the kids had their own story to as of how they gotten to be a captive. Bella was studying for a big Geometry test on her apartment balcony. Jaela was showing off at a skate boarding competition. Georgia was at a club having a Dance Off with some girl she had never met, that girl happened to be Sylvia. Darius was on a park bench 'hanging with Amy, his best friend.' And Samantha was watching a movie at Kaylie Jordanne's house. Kaylie was her best friend.
Her so- called ‘friends’ were cowering helplessly beside the cave wall, cheering her on with teary eyes but overall doing nothing about the situation. The teenagers stared in disgust at the creatures before them. The creatures were unspeakably ugly. Their skin was green, rough, scaly, and slimy; they had large yellow eyes, the iris filled the entire eye and the pupil was a thin black slit. They had a long gray tongue that was constantly lolling out of their mouths, causing them to slobber and making spit fly out with every single word. The creatures were huge, at least ten feet tall, if you were unlucky enough you might have seen their eggs, and if you were even unluckier you might have seen one of their young, and if you had seen either you would know that even at a young age they were giants. The creatures had three fingers on each hand and each foot; they also had a long tail that they dragged behind them, creating a trail on the dusty floors of the cave. Their mouths were filled with hundreds of sharp, yellow teeth, they could have hundreds because they had many rows of teeth. They addressed their species as De'garos.
So Samantha, the now appointed leader of the kids, had stood up when the De’garos leader, known as Killer and was feared as such, had asked them if they opposed to being trapped in the city of Forrews, prisoners of the clan of Heckaner. You see, there was an entire world underneath our very feet, that world is consisted of sick, bloodthirsty monsters that loved to capture innocent humans from the nearest gate. The gate is basically a pothole in the middle of a city, if you were unlucky enough to be at a club that night, well, let’s just say you should watch out. Samantha had been the first person to ever speak out at that question, Killer merely asked it to strike fear into the human's heart, he never expected an answer. He had a reason to not expect one; every single human he met was like wet clay, he could bend them to his every whim.
"What did you say?" Killer snarled as he crouched into a prowl, ready to at attack and any moment. Samantha licked her lips nervously and stared at the cave around her, avoiding any possible eye contact, or any contact at all, as she pondered whether she could answer or not. She didn't have to be the savior of this group of pitiful groups of teenagers, why couldn't they care for themselves, why did they have to have someone to care for them? She considered that for a moment, and then she realized why she had taken the job on in the first place, the reason; she hadn't. It had just sort of happened. "I said; what did you say?" Killer snarled again, his voice even more venomous than before, it was strange how the De'garos managed to look threatening while that big, big flopping tongue hung out of their mouths.
“I said; I oppose to being your prisoner and being trapped in this mud hole.” Samantha squeaked, her voice not nearly as strong as she said it the first time. She gasped for clean air as she neared the De'garos, the stench of rotting rodents met her nose and she pinched up her face. The De'garos laughed at that expression, it showed discomfort. "I refuse to be stuck with you vile, disgusting things!" Killer snarled at her and beckoned to the De'garos closest to him, Matthias. Killer whispered some things into Matthias' ear, just loud enough for the other seven De'garos to understand him. The De'garos started chuckling and the simple curves on the monsters faces turned into a labyrinth of twist and turns as the smiles grew wider and more complex.
There were many more De'garos in the clan of Heckaner. The De'garos before the children were just the Council and leader. There were peasants, Medicine Men, Instructors, the Council, and the Leaders, all in that order. The Council was made up of Matthias, Heagh, Julias, Kinley, Georna, Fanusia, Deagge, and Corter.
Matthias strolled over to Samantha with a gentle smile on his face, his tail created a trail in the slime inside of the cave. "But, sweetie, you don't have a choice." He softly cooed as he drew his claw down her cheek, causing a thin cut to form upon her. Samantha stared up with cold, hard determination, the other children's cheers building her bravery and giving her a false hope that she cold beat the De'garos. Wet, sticky, warm blood oozed sickeningly from the incision made by that claw. A single tear slowly rolled down her face and the De'garos started laughing.
"Oh, but I do." She retorted with that same soft, gentle tone and spun around as the laughter abruptly stopped. "Follow me!" She yelled to her fellow humans, Bella and Jaela stared at each other in confusion as they scrambled up to their feet as fast as they could. Alec was the second one up but the first to catch up with the now running Samantha, Jaela jumped to her feet about a millisecond after the sentence and grabbed Darius' and Georgia's arm and yanked them up. The septuplet of children ran with all of their might as the faces of the De'garos disappeared around a corner and their unintelligible shouting faded and heavy footsteps with another turn. "Bella, take your shoes off!" said Samantha with impatience. Bella did as she was told with the cost of being a few yards behind everyone as she hobbled, still running, though clumsily, and took one on her shoes off, traded feet, put her other shoe on, and caught up with everyone.
There was a faint sloshing off water in the distence; Darius knew what that meant. "Hey, dudes, I hear water. I think it's the sewer." Every single one of the children had a new hope, like a flame that had just been lit, casting a warm glow inside each and every one of the kids. "Let's run as fast as we can to the concrete then we can stop running and start walking. We know that the De'garos refuse to go on the concrete. " Darius said, his chest heaving from the non-stop running. The teenagers all sighed as one, the prospect of walking fueled their tired souls.
"Okay, let's run. On three; one, two, three." Georgia said, and on that last syllable the used-to-be prisoners broke into a sprint towards the sloshing noise. Samantha, Jaela, Bella, Sylvia, Georgia, Darius, and Alec ran for about twenty seconds until they reached the water.
They dusty cave ground was replaced with gravel and an unpleasant smell reached their noses. A rocky ceiling covered with dripping stalactites and bat guano turned into an asphalt cylinder and a smelly stream started. The kids dropped on the ground as one, clearly exhausted. The silence was only broken by an occasional, 'I could run a marathon and not be tired now.' or a, 'My feet are numb, my feet are not supposed to be numb. Why are my feet numb?' and the children's heavy breathing. Darius wiped sweat off of his brow and flipped himself over, 'accidentally' rolling on top of Georgia.
"Get. Off. Of. Me." Georgia growled, making every single word like its own sentence. Darius noticed the poisonous tone in her voice and scrambled to his feet. "Well, looks like Darius is ready to go, so let's go." Darius flushed beet red and stood there until everyone was up and ready to go.
Samantha's heart starting racing and her mind became a jumbled mess of calculations and thoughts, Alec was right beside her and his hand and shoulder was brushing gently against hers. Oddly enough, neither of them moved, they just kept on walking side by side. "Left, right, take a breath, left, right, take a breath, left, right, take a breath." Samantha's mind kept on repeating this little poem in her head; she was so flustered by Alec's closeness that she had to remember to breathe and walk correctly. Little did Samantha know, Alec was just as nervous by this level of closeness as she was. And little did either of them know, they both had a crush on each other. Destiny was in the making, and the targets were resisting its touch, well resisting for the time being.
"Hey, I'm Alec." Alec murmured, then realizing he had made a mistake. "Doh! Of course you knew that already!" He shook his golden ringlets to cover his orb-like eyes and inched away, his chalk pale face flooding with blood. Samantha chuckled and sighed as she scratched the back of her head.
"It's okay, we all make mistakes. It's part of a little thing called life." Samantha smiled as Alec inched back and wiped the blonde locks from his face while he recovered and became porcelain again. "Well, since you introduced yourself, though it was incorrect, I should too. I'm Samantha." She smiled again and clumsily patted his shoulder, ending up more looking like she was wiping something on his shoulder. He chuckled, noting her nervous behavior while anxiously fidgeted with a ringlet of champagne hair
"Hey, guys!" Jaela yelled, though Samantha and Alec didn't know, for the third time. "Hey, I found a pothole for us to get out of!" Jaela's voice sounded very merry, as if she was having a mental celebration and/or party. She jumped up, attempting to reach the pothole so she could knock it out of the way, but of course, her brevity prevented her from reaching it. She jumped and jumped, clearly not giving up until she doubled over and panted, "I'm too short, you do it Sylvia. You're tall." Jaela sluggishly released herself from the position she was in and backed away from the spot, giving Sylvia room to jump. A coarse, scraping sound came from behind Darius, who was the farthest back in the petite clump of juveniles and spun on the heels of his indigo chuck taylors. He attempted to gasp but a wave of nausea had overcome him and a wave of bile had triumphed his throat, therefore the gasp turned out to be a choked gagging sound. That sound was truly disgusting; you would know if you had been there.
What he saw was what he thought was impossible, a De'garos stood behind him, wearing a sick, twisted smile. Well, De'garos didn't usually try to smile in a friendly manner so it only looked like that. The De'garos pushed his way through the group of kids and slowly reached for her waist; his hand could easily fit around it. "S-S-Sy-Syl- RUN!!" Darius yelled, eventually giving up saying her name. She looked around her shoulder, screamed, and sprang into action. The De'garos had been such a terrible fright that she took such drastic measures as to jump into the raw sewage that sluggishly inched along the canal. Darius took one look at what had happened and threw up.
"Not as brave as you boast you are, eh? Your poor little stomach can't take a little sewer diving?" Georgia taunted him, revealing his true personality. Darius somehow managed to glare at Georgia angrily and sheepishly finger the smooth asphalt that was the wall. His mixed emotions could get the point across two ways at once; it was quite a feat indeed. A now green tinted bronze haired girl with her eyes squeezed as tight as they could go peeked her eyes out of the water.
"Is the De'garos gone yet?" She anxiously laughed. A deep voice that sounded like crunching gravel answered her with a loud, booming laugh that was made even louder by the echoes, that was an eerie sound, though it should have been comforting. He did the smile thing again and reached out to yank her out of the water. She was a flailing, airborne rag doll for a second and he put her down on the ground. "He seems nice enough." She said as she shook her water-slicked hair and patted his shoulder. Darius dry heaved once more when the sewage that was blindly flying around the area hit him. Sylvia went underneath the pothole and tried to jump, but the De'garos stopped her.
"First of all, let me introduce myself. I'm Dyngaii, a rogue De'garos. And second of all, let me." Dyngaii pushed the pothole up with ease and lifted up the children, one by one. After each and every one of the kids had been lifted out of the hole a chorous of 'Thanks!' rippled through the children.
A pair of bright lights were nearing the children and it was a second before they realized that. Alec pushed Samantha out of the way and scrambled out of the way, Darius and Georgia stumbling out of the lights and fast as they could. That only left Jaela and Bella, the twins stood, rigid with shock, their eyes wide and unblinking. They were like deer in headlights. Samantha stood in that same state of shock, the only difference was that she was safely out of the way, she stared at the machine and the dazzling speed it was coming up to them. The speed made her dizzy which in turn made her faint. Darius and Georgia leaped out and worked together to get the twins and at the same time Alec jumped and grabbed Samantha in his arms. Both of the rescues were a split second too late, Alec did all that he could, he put himself in Samantha's position.
There was a blinding flash of light, then nothing.
