I never really write poetry unless I randomly get the inspiration, and the words pop up, and I have to write it down. I guess this is called "the heart takes flight", it's dedicated to one of my best friends, who is going through an extremely hard time in her life.

The silent whispers of your golden heart
Let me show you where the king is strolling
Swaying from an ocean to an ocean
All I need is a simple love potion
Tomorrow?
No one wants to wait that long
And all the while, it's still getting cold
Bring me a philosophers stone, and an ice cream cone
I'll set your day aglow
I'll sit with you on rainbows
Veracity, sincerity, and fidelity
Bring me the mortar and pestle
Just like pouring the stars onto the sky
Adding the lemon to the pie
Colored chartreuse and cadmium
Never letting the balloon drop, not to worry
Just rake it up with the mop, not a lot of it dropped
Drink this tonight, just let the maid feed the birds
Tomorrow is resplendent
Always remember tomorrow
Tomorrow you are happy
