Finishing 'Homegoing' by Yaa Gyasi
I was skeptical about the one-chapter-per-character structure, but my skepticism dissolved upon seeing it in action. It's sophisticated as historical fiction and subtle and moving as a series of character studies. This is a deep book that realizes its path through time without losing that depth. Its large cast of POV characters makes that path clearer, more defined, and is a boon to it.

I've also finished The Scarlett Letters, the audiobook for Howl's Moving Castle, The Hunchback Assignments by Arthur Slade, and Alice Oseman's Nick and Charlie novella. I read the first two books in the Hunchback series in middle school; this reread didn't grab me, so I may or may not read the other two books. After Homegoing, I picked up another book from my middle school days, Incarceron by Catherine Fisher, and I'll be back soon with my entry on that. 'Til then, emotion_yatta yum_cupcake
