Background: I grew up as a nobleman’s daughter; my every whim was taken care for me. I need not lift a finger. I was well educated in many things. My most treasured skill was the art of swordsmanship, though my father would’ve had my head and my tutor’s if he knew I was taking lessons. I really did try to be the good girl my family wanted me to be.
The day they told me I was arranged to be married to a man fifteen years older than myself was the day I left…I was sixteen. I had taken some of my father’s coin before I left as I would need it for where I was going. I wandered the streets of Paris before finding myself at the docks. I boarded a ship that was heading for, I don’t know where, but anywhere was better than here.
As we sailed I felt more at peace on the ship than I did on land. I don’t know how long we had been at sea but it felt like a lifetime which was nice considering that I had become, how you say, fond of the ship?
Well anyway we sailed on for a while until our ship was attacked by pirates. Most of the passengers ran around screaming as others tried to hide. I on zée other hand grabbed the nearest thing that could cut like a sword and fought off as many as I could, which ended up catching the eye of the pirate captain. He killed the crew and tied the passengers up including moi. He took all our belongings and such, but as his men started to kill the rest of the passengers, he had me taking to his ship.
At first I thought I was going to lose the only innocent thing about me I had left. I was right….somewhat. He did try, but I put a stop to that rather quickly when I knead him in the crotch and bit his hand. He never tried it again (Laughs).
Anyway, after that little clash we had, he told me how much he admired my skills and was surprised to see a young girl kill so many of his men. I told him I too was surprised by how many fully grown men fell by my hand. Chuckling, he cut lose the ropes they had tied around me. He told all that I was now a part of the crew for the Lady of dark waters and that’s how my life as a pirate began.
