Had to share this. I love philosophical questions and I came across this one and I thought it was an Amazingly accurate answer this gentleman left. It sure got me thinking.
QUESTION:
Can love exist in a Culture that is controlled / driven by fear?
Yes. Even if your present culture promotes a fear-driven life, it is possible to change yourself and be love driven.
1.) "A fear-driven life is a life which thoughts, decisions, and actions are predominantly motivated by fear. Most people live a fear-driven life. Our present culture promotes a fear-driven life. What are the characteristics of a fear-driven life?
In a fear-driven life, the driving force behind most thoughts and actions is fear. This may be fear of death, fear of loneliness, fear of poverty or fear of pain."
Love versus Fear:
An old man said to his grandson, "Boy, I have two tigers caged within me. One is love and compassion. The other is fear and anger."
The young boy asked, "Which one will win, grandfather?"
The old man replied, "The one I feed."
2.) "There are two driving forces in your life: Love and Fear. Love is your higher self. It is the place of pure intention and hope. When your higher self drives your life you are on purpose and empowered. Life surges through you, you thrive and society thrives because of it.
Fear, of course is it's opposite and it is your lower self. It is, unfortunately, the place from where the majority of us exist. When fear drives your life you stagnate and die. You don't live your true purpose and you become dark and heavy and the world suffers as a result."
