heh, using my journal as an easy way to transfer information.

Elected in 1801, Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the United States. The first president to be inaugurated in the new capital, he began his presidency during a much divided period of time in our nation’s history.

He was greatly disliked by Federalists who referred to him as “godless” due to a selection of factors, these including his high level of tolerance and support of the French Revolution.

Despite the rocky state of affairs within America during the beginning of his first term in office, Jefferson managed to draw our still relatively new and very unstable nation into one united whole.
