A Runover Love
Sharice had been late for school again. She couldn’t afford to be late to school this time. She was sure if she came late to class again her first period math teacher would fail her. In one more year she would be a senior and she wouldn’t want to be behind all of her friends, trying to catch up at the last moment to graduate. She only has a few friends, and wasn’t your “A+” sophomore. She doesn’t like to push herself to the limit, especially if it’s not necessary. She was pretty much laid back, and never worries about a thing.
She ran out of her house, with toast in her mouth, not paying attention to the light before she crossed. As she crossed a street, about half way to the school unaware and not paying attention, a red Ferrari was about to run her over. She was so shocked she couldn’t move, but by miracle chance the car stopped inches from her. “I am still alive” She stuttered afterwards not being able to speak. She felt so scared, what if it had hit her? And what would happen now? She pondered
The driver stepped out of his car in a black leather coat and dark shades. He looked at her to see if she was okay. “Little missy, Hello. May I ask are you are hurt?” Sharice was still so shocked by what happened just almost a minute ago
The man continued to examine her, “Well I’m in a rush to the studio, but if you’re hurt and you need anything meet me there at the Soul Studios, downtown.” He hopped back in his Ferrari after helping her up of course and sped down the road. “He was so kind… yet I couldn’t say a thing. I think I might have fallen in love.” Then the most obvious thought popped in her head, “Oh my… How old is he?!... well he did look young, about 19 or 20 I guess.” As she walked to school she started feeling a little sharp pain in her leg. “I guess I should at least see him later so he can make up for the pain he caused me.”
In school she saw her friend Jin. Jin was the quiet type, serious and funny at the same time. He was smart, “B” student but he had a serious crush on Sharice. He could never really confess his love since he was to shy but he promised himself that he would someday.
“Is the teacher here?” she asked him. “Nope, you’re real lucky today, Sharice.” He walked her around the School since there was no substitute. This was a respected school and students were mature so walking in hallways was fine as long as you didn’t have a class. He noticed she was limping and asked, “Are you ok? You seem to be limping.” She didn’t feel like explaining the whole story so she just got to the main point. “Yeah, I’m alright. Long story short, I almost got ran over.” She also explained the card and the guy she might be in love with.
“You serious?!” said Jin.
“Yeah… but I’m ok.” responded Sharice.
“I’m glad, I don’t know what I’d do if I lost you… I love you…” Jin whispered but Sharice couldn’t hear him.
“Hey! Speak up.” She demanded.
“Oh it’s nothing” He chuckled obviously lying.
After school Jin decides to try to walk Sharice home. He wanted to tell her he loved her. He felt a little bit of courage and was finally going to confessed. Today was going to be the start of a closer relationship “Hey, Sharice-” but she cut him off, “I think I’ll go meet that guy. He was cute and he looked young. He said he’d be at the studio. Think I should go?” Jin felt heartbroken. “Yeah… have fun.”
They separated since Jin felt so depressed he decided to go his own way. Sharice was so oblivious to the fact that he had feelings for her, but on her way to the studio she thought about it for a second. “Jin is starting to act a little weirder than usual.” She thought to herself. “Oh well.”
When she arrived to the studio she was shocked. There was only one way to describe it: A trap. As soon as she had stepped inside, guns were pointed at her back. A stranger with a semi-automatic pistol in his hand, now pointed at her head asked “Hey little girl? What are you doing her?” She couldn’t move at all it was just like when she almost got ran over. “Sorry, this is the part when my friends and I have our way with you”
The man she had met wasn’t there, only an old nasty looking stranger and a gang of thugs. No one can save her now. She was to be raped and killed.
The next day no one ever heard of her. It took a month to find a body. Jin was too afraid to speak. Jin later couldn’t handle how he couldn’t protect her because he was too weak, or how he never confessed his love, so he committed suicide. He hanged himself out the window. All witnesses are dead, except the man in the Ferrari. Since no one saw his face he was never suspected. It was a shame how one’s heart can deceive someone into seeing things that were never there.
