Who am I? Oh boy, where do I begin.
Well, let's start with the basics. Everyone loves an origin story.... or so I've been told. I was about fifteen years old when I attended a demonstration revolving radioactivity. Talk about fun, right? Well I was... er am a nerd, so radioactive isotopes were my Linkin Park concert. Anyway, unbeknownst to anyone in the room, a small spider had descended into the path of the machine's radioactive ray. The tiny arachnid was consumed by radioactive energy and bit the nearest thing it could with it's dying bite. Me. After a run-in with a speeding car, I learned that the spider had somehow transferred it's powers to me! My life has been pure hell amazing ever since.
"With great power, comes great responsibility." Those were the words my Uncle Ben used to tell me. He and my Aunt May took me in after my parents died, and have been there for me all my life. Even when I would get picked on by bullies, they were always there to give me hugs, milk, and cookies. That was until someone took my uncle from me. I don't like to talk about it, much. But it's my fault he's gone.
Many years have passed since that fateful day in the science lab. I've lost so many friends over the years... but I've gained something else. Self-worth. I do what I do for all the people who can't defend themselves... people who were just like me. Who am I? I'm Spider-Man.
