So many times I've been told what a man is, but there is something that noone ever mentions, this 'secret' is what shackles us to be not men, but puppets. To be what we as people consider a man, is when we are seen as a man in others eyes. We seek acceptance from our superiors and teachers. This is what we are instilled with since birth, we are nothing more than what others see us as.
This is why we must keep who we are as secrets within us, lying to others and ourselves as to who we are and what we can become, because we allow everyone to control us and bend to their will as to what they think we are, and strive to become what they believe we are suppose to be.
I have had people in my life that constantly tell me that I need to be a man, I need to step up and take my place. But, when I do stand up, and it's not what they believe is the right decision, they tell us that we are just being a man, but if we do what they consider is the correct thing, suddenly we have stepped up and became a man, and not let ourselves to passivity.
People will try to control us, keep us under their thumb so that we can help build them up and give them power. We seek acceptance from them, but yet, they tell us that we are seeking acceptance from something higher, when really they just wish us to do what they believe is the right thing. They will tear us down, break us, and bend us into what they want, and tell us this is what we are suppose to be.
BUT THIS IS NOT WHAT A MAN IS! We must break away from those that want to tell us who and what we are to be, we are who we see ourselves are, to ourselves we have no secrets, so why should we have to hide ourselves from the world. When we stand up for ourselves and what we believe in our hearts is right, no matter what others tell us or try to make us think, we cannot fall back. We must break from others, and find acceptance in our knowing that we did all that we could, and gave everything. This is what a man is. A man is powerful, courageous, and faithful. But seeks acceptance from noone. A man is who he is, not what others think or want him to be.

Coming to Peace
Everyone struggles day to day, but everyone's struggles are different. But never the less, we must each come to peace with both our past, and our present. That is the only way we will ever be able to make ourselves into the person of our future.
