My tale begins with... [Seimei has not been exactly in an easy life. He used to live with his parents in a harbor town where nothing really happened. Being adventurous and restless, the young man left his home when still a child and completely oblivious as to what it would bring, the boy hid in a barrel that was about to be hoisted on a ship in the middle of the night.
The moment he realized the cargo had been loaded, he escaped the barrel and lived in the cargo hold for a few days. Since it was filled with food and liquid especially made for long voyages, he didn't need to look far for sustenance, but as a demon he didn't need as much either. However after a few days one of the sailors went into the hold to grab something and he quickly knew something was amiss and spotted the boy very quickly. Seimei was soon caught and brought up to the deck, where it became clear he had managed to board a pirate vessel.
They had been at the harbor in the middle of the night to stock up on supplies and sell stolen goods. The pirates were just considering what to do with him, when the captain came to the deck and instead felt amused. If the boy wanted to be a pirate than he would become one, but he also had to pull his weight on the ship is what the captain said and that was when Seimei's new life started.
With the crew since, the boy has grown up to be just like the crew he was with and after 11 years on the same ship, he thought himself untouchable, sustaining several injuries and some scars with and for the crew. Sadly this came to an end once the crew learned of a shop that didn't ask questions about origin and the pirates turned on the nekomata and sold him to the shop where he now remains until he is purchased. This betrayal also led to him not trusting anyone. He still hasn't forgiven the betrayal of his 'crewmates' and has become rather jaded towards the world. He may not speak like a pirate despite the years but he has lived as one and will fight for his freedom if he has to.]
