EXTINCT?

[******** my life." The words came out as a low hiss as she peered out the Taxi window, a slight rain drizzling down. New York bumper-to-bumper traffic was flooding in as the time approached a half passed 7:00am.

Samantha Carlson, was late again.

She had awoken that morning with her ran mascara glued to her face and used tissues surrounding her pillow. The following night had involved being dumped by her boyfriend. The movies showed that the girl left the guy for being "too caught up" in their work; but Sam was living proof that that wasn't always the case. After clearing her head and blinking a few times, gaining focus on the blurry red numbers on her clock, she yelled a few loud cuss words and quickly fished her things together.

Nervously tapping her fingernails against the arm rest of the car she bit at her bottom lip, smearing the plastered on mocha-lipstick. She ran a hand through her thin chestnut locks as they finally pulled up at the air-port. A vast building with a catastrophic heard of people shuffling around the outside. Going in and out. Many pulling little children by their arms furiously. She wasn't the only one with a tough morning.

Her emerald eyes darted across the scenery until the taxi driver got out of the car to grab her luggage. Slowly getting out she grabbed her two roller-cases and gave the guy a twenty. She was trying to clear her head as she walked. Pictures of her night, of him, of what was to happened filtered in then out as more room was needed for the next bin of thoughts. Passport? Check. Letter for proof? Check. I.D.? Check. Boiling coffee on her jacket? What....?

As soon as she snapped back to reality she felt herself collide with an oncoming stranger. With that his coffee dribbled onto her plaid jacket. "s**t!" She yelled loud as she took a step back, wiping at the liquid before it leaked through to her bare skin. The man gave a small gasp as he held his hands up, as if wanting to help but not sure what to do.
" 'mam, I'm so sorry. I didn't see you coming straight for me."
Samantha glared up at him but quickly softened up.
"It's fine, just watch where you're going next time."
"Me? You came right at m-"

But she was already gone into the airport.

The man just rolled his eyes and stared down at his coffee now on the cold cement. He chucked the $2.50 Starbucks coffee at the trash can and grabbed his own bags, following the crowd of people walking in. "Just my luck," Adrian mumbled. "I just get back from my military post and I'm already dealing with ungrateful bitches." He was venting, out loud, to himself. Something he did often. Exhaustion was showing under his eyes and in the way he walked. He was sore. He had to take multiple red-eye flights to get to the correct airport for the private plane. He was unaware as to what the Government was completely up to but he knew it was "urgent." Having being stranded in the desert for 3 months was torture enough, now this. He had been enrolled in the military for six years now and the proof was in his body. He had muscular and fine features but it was covered by a large trench-like-business jacket that ended below his knees.

As he made it into the building the lighting changed and made him blink a few times, to get adjusted. Already he was lost. Trudging along the lanolin floors he traveled to the far back where he followed his given instructions. He went out a back door to the outdoors once more into a secluded chunk of land. A small jet like plane was in the middle. The breeze shifted through his black hair as he peered at the vast peice of engineering and metal before him. The doors were open but there was a flood of people boarding; but he hadn't expected that.
"Adrian McCarthy?" Came a voice to his left.
Turning suddenly he noticed a nicely dressed black man, a headset and walkie-talkie strapped to him.
"Yes."
"You can board now if you wish. We'll be leaving in about 15 minutes."
Adrian said nothing more for the man turned and walked away towards a lady that he had met before.

But he took no notice to this but made his was towards the plane where he left his luggage by a small pile of other people's. Confusion swept him, for her would think of a more military like procedure for getting them to the place (in which he was not informed of where.) This seemed...too casual? He had smelt something fishy about this whole thing the day he was told he was leaving for NYC the week before. But alas, he was not to argue or dig too deep. The Government was a scary and gray area in which he was not to meddle with. His interest was in the well-being of America.

But America didn't have the same well being for him.

Samantha finally emerged out of the airport and again into the outdoors. The light that emerged engulfed her as she trotted out, luggage in each hand and a bag slung over her shoulder. The same black man that dealt with Adrian approached her, blocking her way.
"Uhm, I'm Samantha Carson. The Speci-"
"Species Specialist." He gave a smile as he nodded his head with his words. "I can take your bags for you."
"Oh, thanks." She said with a laugh of relief. She had made it.
She dropped her bags and shoved her numb hands into her pockets, trying to create some warmth.
"You can board the plane now. I'll be on in a little bit to explain the situation better before we lift off."

She nodded and smiled again, turning she walked towards the plane that would be her passport to hell....

When earth was yet a little child
Dinosaurs lived free and wild.

Alice in Wunderland
(Random post)

Alice’s expression became numb as she shot a glance back, seeing shadows moving drastically as she looked up at Kaiser. She gave an immediately nod and sped off, her pace not as fast as the other’s. Her dress was baggy over her scrawny body but her nylons were tight and fitted as her shoes were heavy as cinderblocks. But she did her best to ignore the exasperating weight of it all as she ran, her heart rate quickening as her eyes were drowned with a look of worry.

She soaked in the scenery as she did, it looked like a back-alley way of a ‘ghetto’ neighborhood. She had never experienced in outing in such a place, but she had snuck a newspaper or two back to her hospital-room when the nurses were too busy with their other problems. But she kept running aside the frightening shadows and darkness enclosing on them.

Rebecca walked out slowly, her body swaying back and fourth as she crossed her arms to her hips, in each one pulling out a sheathed sword. The blades were thin with a slight amount of rust at the ivory handles. They were engraved with the Queen’s crescent heart symbol, stolen soldier items, and felt severely heavy. But nonetheless she didn’t let her foes see the strain on her arms as she came to a halt in the clearing of the Court Yard area. The Thing and the slave were straight across from her, stopping abruptly at the sound of Rebecca’s clattering. The Thing snarled, drool descending as a waterfall from it’s mouth as it looked hungrily at her. The slave just gave a startled gasp and his eyes adverted to the ground.

“Bring it, puppy.” She said with a snarl, followed by a teasing smile as she hunched down, her blades out in front of her as she looked challengingly at it, want and hatred burning within her emerald eyes.

It didn’t take long for the slave to drop the Thing’s chained leash and scuttle out of the area. With that it lunged at her and the fight had commenced.

The Mad Hatter reluctantly set down his tea-cup and perked his ears. He soaked in the two stranger’s words as he nodded along with them, a mischievous grin playing on his lips as he showed a toothy smile. “Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. How most calamitous it is for me to have you two join. Uninvited.”

He turned his face abruptly to Tweedle Dum. “I see you forgot your manners again! Well, aside that.” He smiled now, his heart warming up as his a**l side was slowly disappearing. He stood up, moving aside from his chain and feeling along the table to his next. “You must switch chairs to find a better cup-o-tea!” His voice was a bit more happier, but anyone could tell it was strained.

The Mad Hatter had been drinking the same tea for the past month, it growing cold and crusted as he did but his mind had been on a one track set. But with the disturbance of the twins he found himself picturing his long-lost friends. He sat down in the next one and brought the rim of the cup to his lips as he took another slurp, slamming it back down onto his saucer with a clang, winning another crack in the cup as he did. “Sugar?” He asked, dumping a small load into his as he asked.

Criminal x Cop
(Intro)

As the rusty bars clanked together, grinding against the rust as the gate opened and she was fine to step in. But did she want to? Yes. She finally agreed to herself as she took a small step into the prison, the dampness giving an unpleasant churn to her stomach. It was dark and gloomy, with a few deficient
lights above, flickering on and off. Agent Moore took a double-take of the place, it was the same as last time. And the time before that. She had spent countless hours rummaging through prison files, interrogating helpless criminals, and all that jazz here many times…but she never seemed to get more comfortable with it.

The guard she was following kept leading her further and further down the corridor, her trying to not make any contact with the men sticking their heads out and gleaming at her. She just kept walking, trying to act nonchalant but she felt a pit of perspire running down the back of her neck. She winced at the wolf-whistles that were swarming around from the prisoners, and tried to just shake off the sexual and rude comments. Something about pushing her up against a wall…but then she supposedly blocked it out. What could she expect?

Expect. She should of expected--- her; the most famous and successful cop in all of New York, to be sent on a small mission. She couldn’t help but give her boss a load of attitude and a few snide remarks as he informed her that she was “too good” for them. Saying with all her action she was making the rest of the cops look bad. A load of bollix she stated but was only shooed off faster, with her next destination; back to the stinky prison.

But as they neared the back of the prison, she gave a sigh of relief as it had quieted down. But now she realized that the cells were a bit more…high-tech? As she saw the guard stop and notion to a certain cell, the only one with a chair in front of the glass, he said sternly. “If he gives you any trouble, you just get back to the gate, and someone will come help.” He spoke as if this man was an animal, but for all she knew, he could very well be one.

Rebecca had made sure to read everything-- obsessively --on this man. Adrian Nathanial McCarthy. She in fact agreed that he was some form of animal. The details about the murder, had made her give pity to any folk that pissed him off greatly in his life.

Before standing in front of the man she ran a hand through her hair, the sweat that had formed on the back of her neck swimming through it, gelling it back as she pulled her long, wavy chestnut hair into a long pony-tail. Looking more official in her grey suit. She inhaled, then exhaled a deep breath, reassuring herself that it’d be easy, then she’d just leave. But already the pit in her stomach informed her that it wouldn’t be that easily.

“Hello, Adrian McCarthy.”
