My Time as Guardian
Amulet (part 6)
I and some other wood elves spent forever trying to interrogate Salga... I did manage to discover that he found the amulet somewhere in a mountain range to the north... To the very far north... Farther north than I've ever been, anyway. Which doesn't really help me. I also found at there there were, in fact, more amulets.
It took a long time, but eventually I figured out how to free Salga. I came to realize that the spirits that were controlling him through the amulets controlled him by consuming whatever hope he had for anything else. In his mind, the only way there could be a hope for any kind of future was to obey them. So I responded by using my telepathic skills fueled by elven high magic--I refueled his hope, locked in a battle of wits with the spirits controlling him. Eventually, the spirits were pushed out of his head, and I was able to kill them.
Then Salga was free, but he is still in the wood elf village, where we can keep an eye on him.

Amulet (part 6)
It took quite a bit of time to convince Glem and his wife that everything would be alright, but the actual adventure was fairly short. It was obvious that they wanted to lure me in so that whatever twisted affects that amulet or draconian had on one's mind would turn me into their tool. As if I was going to let that happen. I'm guessing they didn't care if it was an obvious trap because they figured I wouldn't have a choice--the king's daughter (and my apprentice) is a very important person, after all. So I went to the forest where the moon elves had been trapped, and I made an illusion of myself going into the cave while I myself was hidden. (Illusion magic is fun.) They fell for it very nicely.
As it had to turn out, Salga was involved. The draconian that the moon elves saw was also there. Salga held onto Sihauna in a relaxed position, "knowing" I wouldn't try anything. Then they went on a whole spiel about the amulet's power and how it forced you to serve it, blah blah blah. Salga then directed all of the amulet's energy toward the illusion of me. Even though it wasn't directed at where I really was, I felt it's power trying to grab me. Of course, elves' minds are too strong for such blind groping. Reaching out with a bit of my power, I shattered the amulet, then jumped in there and began fighting, quickly pushing Sihauna out of the way. I didn't need to do much though. When the amulet shattered, it apparently freed the draconian. (If he was acting, I still need to watch out for him.) He tackled Salga (and by the way, draconians are HEAVY), completely knocking the wind out of him. After a few more blows, I was able to convince the draconian to stop. Then I took Salga and Sihauna to my village; Sihauna as a rescued princess, and Salga as a prisoner.
But I sensed that Salga was being controlled still, even though the amulet was gone. Was there another amulet?

Amulet (part 5)
Another short entry, I'm afraid. First, I'll describe something I left out earlier.

The thought had crossed me some time after Qal'la had challenged me that I didn't know how strong our king, Glem, was. If someone challenged him, I wanted to be sure he could handle it. I tested him, and for security reasons, I won't go into details, but I was impressed by his resourcefulness. Nevertheless, I offered to train him. He refused, saying that if I was willing to train anyone, it should be his daughter, Sihauna. I agreed reluctantly, and began training her.

Now back to the more recent story... Sihauna was aware of my investigation of the moon elves. In fact, she had been with me when I questioned the moon elves. And I made the mistake of waiting too long to continue the investigation. Sihauna lost her patience, and went off alone to the forest to investigate.
She had taken a couple guards with her, but only one returned, saying that Sihauna had been captured.
OBVIOUS TRAP. Of the three (I think it was three guards that went with her, only one guard survived, and was allowed to come back and report. Did the kidnappers really think I was that stupid?

Amulet (part 4)
Of course, I gave the moon elves one order, and did they listen? No! But really, I can't expect their obedience. I have no authority over them.
Anyway... I tracked them down and found them again. I asked them what they knew... Turns out they were tracking someone. Why?... They didn't know. It was a draconian (not a dragon, a draconian. You can look them up online, although only about half of what you'll find on any site I've found is accurate. Basically, they're half-dragon, half-human. That's really all you need to know. Well, that and that they have a magic that twists the minds around them--they don't do it intentionally; most of them can't control it. If you hang around a draconian too long, you will end up becoming a better or worse person, based on their alignment. Or you could be drawn to a certain goal, even if you know nothing about it.) Why would they risk their lives tracking something as dangerous as a draconian?... They didn't know. The draconian had an amulet of some kind. What kind of amulet was it?... They didn't know. All they knew was that when the draconian passed by, they felt an amazingly strong desire to protect the amulet. WHY? They couldn't answer that one question... Which is what got me wondering. Not to make this a short post or anything, but this is where I left and just thought for a very long time...

PS Sorry my posts are taking longer sometimes. I'm getting closer to where events are currently.

EDIT: I forgot to mention how they got underground... I believe the draconian used earth elemental energy to change the state of the ground and cause the moon elves to sink.
