A whole year later? Hoo Boy. I guess I'm not much of a journalist/diarist/logger/whatever. I've done lots of art work in the past year which consumes all the time some of you spend writing. Several mandalas have been completed including 1 dedicated to my "bean"/daughter. It includes her fave animals, fish, birds, insects and colors too as well as initials and her own "secret code writing". My son's will be next so I know it will include lots of kitties and probably his fave Pokemon. My most enjoyable piece lately has been making the cake topper for my goddaughter's upcoming wedding. 2 butterflies flying around a tuft of lavender flowers. I'm going to be making all the calla lilies to decorate the cake too. Real ones are just way too $$$$$$$. I guess lately I've really been focuing more on doing a lot of samller drawings and paintings. i used to do more really big canvases - 3 x 5 ft and bigger- but it's too hard to store them and most people are too intimidated by their size to accept or buy one for their home. Everybody loves them but...... It's Ok they're kind of like "MY Precious" and i'm just as happy to have them to look through. Aside from mandalas I really like rendering various combinations of textures in graphite and in color. I've been working onthis one drawing of a kid's toy chest with the toys all jammed together for quite awhile- probably over 20 hours over the past 3 years. Other things keep popping up that take precedence and when I come back to it I find more things that I think need adjusting. I think I could probably finish in 10-15 more hours if that's all I work on. I real want to add a child's patterned wallpaper to the background to give the whole thing a location. I'm thinking maybe beach balls or umbrellas or something circus so it doesn't say boy's or girl's room. We'll see what happens.
