On Silent Hill ( another videogame movie that SUCKS!!!)
Ah, what can I say about 'good ol' silent hill'. That it is one of the best horror/mystery games ever concieved? That its ambiance, created by a masterful soundtrack, sound effects, camera angles, & Scenery, is spooky enough to scare the pants off you? Or that its characters & backstory and plot are always a treat? I could really say all those things and more about this game, but today I will mostly be talking about the movie...
My love affair with Silent Hill began when I picked up a copy of the 1st game. After listening the song " hometown" as the movie sequence played I knew that I would be addicted to the game for many days to come, and I was right. X3 Ever sincen that faithful day I have picked up every silent hill that has come out.
So imagine my excitement when I heard about the Silent Hill movie being produced. How happy I was to hear that finally I could share the silent hill story with my friends ( and relatives) XD cause I am a big nerd, so I tell my people about stuff I'm reading or playing.
A few years later I finally found out more about the story they would be using. Harry had been replaced by a female character. I was kinda dissapointed by that, but I could deal with it as long as they kept the story true to Silent Hill so no big deal. That and the actress they picked to portray Cybil Bennet ( The cop) looked like the perfect match, so I was still exited and happyly waiting for Silent Hill, the movie, to come out.
Then on the day it finally did I watched the whole way through, shocked at the story change, and the end. I ranted about this to my friend (another SH fan) but she started to deffend the movie and say how she thought it was true to the story ( which really is not) So I told her Even SH4 was more true to Silent Hill than the movie.
( Because she thinks SH4 has nothing to do with Silent Hill, and therefor sucks, Which it doesn't. Silent Hill 4 does not exactly take place in the town of Silent Hill but it is well connected to the story and has great characters, and a good story line to it. X3...My friend is a big Feminist btw, so she supports anything with girls in it like SH3 just for the sake of female power. So that explains a lot about why she wanted to deffend the movie.)
I think the Silent Hill movie was ok, but it wasn't Silent Hill...maybe they should have named it " Silent Hill : Alternate Universe" Or something like that, because they completely screwed the movie up the a**.
And Pyramid head...He has always been awesome. But to just throw him in there as a token...demonic force/Avenger was completely random.
Then there is Dhalia, since when did she become a victim!?!?
All things considered I give the Silent Hill movie...

Character portrayal: C-
Over all: D+
XD So yes I think the Silent Hill movie Sucked, and I'm saddened to see how many fans it has gathered, because it trully is a shame to have a substandard plot attached to such a great game.
