I didn't start dating until I moved, which is when I was 12.
The first sort of serious guy I dated that lived nearby--- was so mature, sexual,etc- and a year older than me.. So we broke up. I wasnt ready for what he wanted.
Never see each other again.. so I think.
I was 17 at this point.
Some guy who I was friends with started to try to sexually abuse me. I managed to get out of his house and run. I ran and watched him try to chase me.
A guy in a truck pulls up and asks if anything is wrong- course, I'm crying hard at this point.
He goes, "Tiana, are you okay?"
My mouth dropped.
It was the same kid from when I was 12.
He gets out and scares the other guy off (and luckily, that guy who was trying to sexual abuse me never spoke to me again). I get in with him- and we spend 3 hours driving around just talking about what life was between the years. This is right before I got engaged.
So- I go to his place a few times a week after band practice. After the band broke up, I was at his place every day after school.
One night, he asked me if I was sure I wanted to be in a relationship (with my now husband) with a guy so far away (he lived in GA, I was in IL). I was sure and I told him I was fine with it and all.
He gets all sly and sexual with me. It was awkwardly overwhelming for me since we had NEVER shared a moment as such, and even though I wanted him off, there was tension.
Neck kisses,etc. No hands touching anywhere though. Just sweet kisses and body movements around.
He looks up and tells me, "Let's go. I want to show you something".
Spring sunset.
We take a 2 mile walk. He carries me most of the way.
He has me close my eyes as we walk the last 5 minutes.
He sits me down on a cloth. He's laughing a bit, softly.
He then tells me to open my eyes.
Thousands of fireflies in this field, going off every millisecond.
I was breathless and speechless. A painting. It looked like a painting.
And he had framed this spot, this time, this moment just for us.
