Oat-Oat's Stories
This goes for stories that are too gruesome for the art arena but perfect for here.
The Moon was Full-Prologue
She was panting as she ran from roof to roof, not from the exertion, but from the large, gaping, bleeding holes in her forehead, belly, and leg. She was used to blood loss, but very rarely did she have such big wounds at one time. Her leg was already beginning to feel very weak, and for once, she wasn't sure about her abilities. Her body ached, begged for rest, but she was so close... So close...
So... Close...
Her legs went out from under her as her body strained to keep going. She skidded across the concrete roof, the knife that was still in her belly going in even deeper until she flipped off of the roof and into an alleyway.
She couldn't move. Her body was weak, and even thinking seemed to be too much of an effort. Not for the first time, she felt like she was dying. But maybe... Maybe she was safe for right now. She'd made sure she'd put plenty of distance between herself and them... Maybe... Maybe...
Her thoughts faded away as her body used its remaining energy to breathe.
The moon was new.
