Small animals do get hurt, true, but a lot of vegans grow their own gardens or at least the ones I've talked with - we have our own even. You can't really do anything about animals that get stuck. It's probably an extremely quick death which doesn't make it any better I know. Statistics show that 93 lives per year saved by each and every vegan. If the number of vegetarians in this country only doubled it would save 60 million lives every year. A typical European meat eater will devour 760 chickens, 20 pigs, 29 sheep, five cows and half a trawler-net of fish in a lifetime. In their lifetime the average British meat-eater eats 36 pigs, 36 sheep, 8 cattle and 550 poultry.Based on these numbers, if there are 6 billion people in the world, and even if only 0.3% of these people would be vegans, and they are vegan only half of their lives, they'll still save:
1,368,000,000 chicken
36,000,000 pigs
52,200,000 sheep
9,000,000 cows
900,000 trawler-net of fish
And sure go ahead with the linking. blaugh
