You know what I was thinking about the other day?
A lot of people say that you can't write a good book, unless something dramatic, be it good or bad, has happened in your life(or if you have a super good imagination, but I'm not going to go there. sweatdrop ) This doesn't have to be true though. I was thinking about some stories I could write, and I got thinking, "Why a short story?", but I thought my life wasn't exciting enough to give me any ideas for larger writings, but I wanted to challenge this idea. So I took an event that recently happened to me(one that I thought was small) and I thought about how I could expand it.
-----A friend of mine, (I say friend because I didn't like him any more than that) told me he liked a little while ago and even though I didn't like him back, it still made me feel nice 4laugh , but in another way I wasn't too happy about him telling me this because I would have to tell him I didn't feel the same way burning_eyes . Now get this, during the same week he tells me he likes me, he tells another girl the same thing and now I believe he is in a relationship with her. Even though I didn't like him (anymore than just a friend), it would have broken my heart if I had... To this day I still don't understand why that boy did that to me, was he trying to see if I would say I like you back? I used to be really good friends with this guy, but now...not so much, (sorry dude, but you did that to yourself)
------Anyway with this small(ish) event, I could expand it to create much more tan just a small story by, for example, dwelling on quotes, my opinions and feelings throughout this, and perhaps even putting his side of the story in.( of course I really don't WHAT to know what his opinions on the matter were, but I could make things up) Anyway, this is just one thing that happened in my life, and it wasn't to big of a deal, but this could be a few ways you could get ideas for short(or not) stories, By taking not not so special details and blending them with your own creativity. Try it sometime!
