To start off, I shall star Crystal Kay. Why? No idea, besides the fact that I'm currently addicted to her and just bought a CD of hers. Yes, I'm in love. And specifically her song "LOST CHILD". The song is just so pretty!!!
Here's the english version of the lyrics.
Quote:
LOST CHILD
Round & round, the butterfly that takes off is flying away
High & low, like dancing, it'll fly off somewhere
Stand under the sunshine
was it a dream I had on a familiar street corner
of a butterfly that gently stops on the shoulder of my red aosai to rest?
So, I try to catch in my cage
it slips through my fingers so suddenly
than I've ever seen
I have a feeling that this isn't the first time I've seen this
Tell me why it's very nostalgic
therefore beloved, I can't go back again
It's ok to call that place my hometown
if it's like the place that I raise my voice and laugh at
if it's that place...
One more time, the butterfly will take off again
and fly away
come and go, it will be protected by the breeze and will fly off somewhere
Stood under the moonlight
I was looking at the footprints of my bare feet
The light from the pale light bulb calls out
and the butterfly got burned and fell
Then I heard a haunting sad song
When I close my eyes, there's a melody of a lullaby
Did you kiss my cheek?
I understand that it was destiny that I was feeling
Tell me why it's very nostalgic
therefore beloved, I can't go back again
It's ok to call that place my hometown
if it's like the place that I raise my voice and laugh at
if it's that place...
Round and round, it will fly off now, fluttering its wings
the butterfly will fly away somewhere as if it were dancing
One more time it will fly off, fluttering it's wings
high and low, it'll fly off somewhere
Round & round, the butterfly that takes off is flying away
High & low, like dancing, it'll fly off somewhere
Stand under the sunshine
was it a dream I had on a familiar street corner
of a butterfly that gently stops on the shoulder of my red aosai to rest?
So, I try to catch in my cage

if it's that place...
One more time, the butterfly will take off again

I love the way the song is so carefree and dream-like. Somehow, it just makes a rainy day so pretty. Kinda like adding a bubbly texture to the darkness. I heard it once and I had to have it on my mp3 player for an extended period of time. So I bought the CK5 album.
Vocals wise, she's good, if you like a smoky yet somehow bubbly, adolescent voice. (She's been singing for Sony Music since she was 13, I think. Oh, and she's half-korean-half-african. But she speaks English and Japanese instead.) Yet, the lyrics remain very clear. Not a very common effect really.
