~~**Cheltsie's Little Space**~~
Dragons
Added some things that we talked about, was less... kind-hearted I think than when we talked... left out history for now... I mostly like the "Short Run Down" part, while keeping it in mind that after watching others RP the dragons, I might change some of the behavioral things because I'm just not going to enforce it... Don't really like the longer part, and will edit it around most definitely, but it's "finished" enough to put into the guild, after approval. =)

-- Me

This is a guide on the average size and mental abilities of the dragons in our world that should pertain to immediate RP. Other details have been decided, and shall be added as we go on.

We encourage you to ask questions, by quoting StrawberryRoseTea and Cheltsie in the thread or PMing one of us. It seems to be the trend to ask Ryghann. Ryghann is the colorist and will mostly likely just refer you back to us. =)

The short run down:

-- Carnivores
-- Very adaptive to all environments
-- 7-8 inches in height, 14 inches from head to bum, and 11 inches at the tail
-- More "Work" Animals, and easily trained in work. They DON'T typically appreciate being seen as pets (unless it benefits them!) and they certainly won't be trained to do things for show.
-- "Imprint" their Unicorn Companions (and just about anything else) at any age, much like a bond.
-- Speech: Other dragons: Sign Language Unicorns/Others: Typically Emotion-Based Telepathy, very few words without sentences and the occasional "special" image.
-- Always Possessive Hoarders, will fiercely defend their possessions.
-- Typically (nearly always) extremely proud, generally best approached with compliments to their egos.
-- Often (fun guideline for "average", take it as you like) more lazy than productive, and while tolerant of others tends to only build relationships they can get something out of.

The Long Version:

Appearance:

Dragons average in size from 7-8 inches in height and 14 inches in head to body length, with tails averaging 11 inches. This puts them at slightly smaller than an average sized house cats.

Because of the magic imposed on their growth, a full-grown dragon will never be shorter than 6 inches or smaller in head to body length than 12 inches. One will never be larger than 10 inches, nor longer than 18 inches in head/body length.

Behavior:

Dragons are reputed to be proud, roughly independent hoarders with a fierce streak. Most dragons offer good reason for this sort of reputation, but temperaments are as varied and multifaceted as can be found in any sort of animal.

Dragon as Companions and Their Hoarding Behavior
All dragons are hoarders to some extent, and even the friendship/bond they hold with others is a sort of "hoarding imprint." A dragon can imprint itself at any time in its life to anyone or anything they deem is Most Amazing and Worth Having. The vast majority of dragons are quite possessive, and while it is certainly possible for an imprint to weaken or even end entirely, this is quite uncommon. The best way to insure an imprint one fears might be losing its grip? Find a way to make the dragon think it is losing that object. Dragons can not stand to lose what is theirs. Dragons might have imprinted to two or three different living creatures, but one is always Supreme and will be chosen over the rest. Likewise, a dragon typically has four to five Very Most Prized possessions, with one being Supreme within that collection.

Social Behavior:
Dragons are actually quite tolerant of others, especially if their egos are being stroked. This is when they are the most active, trying to garnish even more great praises.

Otherwise, dragons are quite lazy. If they go out of their way to socialize, they have probably weighed that this interaction is going to benefit them in some way to make something easier. They are surprisingly patient and even able to see long term benefits, so this benefit may not always be immediately notably.

Be careful not to let the sometimes paranoid and often wary dragons think you are looking at Their Special Treasure with too much desire though... They can become quite nasty in their defense of it.

Dragon Communication

Dragons communicate with each other through a sort of instinctive and simple sign language, slightly more complex than a typical animal's, but just as easily interpreted by any unicorn that has payed close enough attention. They communicate with their Imprinted Sentient Friends (whether unicorns or otherwise) through the innate telepathy the Unicorns have granted to all semi-sentient creatures of their lands. A dragon's vocabulary is very small. They typically only know words important to them, without the use of unnecessary article. They can string three to five words together, but prefer to rely on raw emotion and the occasional image of something very especially beloved.

A dragon will tolerate other imprints, bonds and deep friendships of the Unicorns, as long as they are often and liberally assured that their Very Special Ones are not in danger of being taken away.

Dragon Training:

If their great egos are appealed to, dragons are surprisingly easy to train, especially once imprinted. Any task that they've been convinced is very important for whatever reason. But make fun of them or use them for display to coo over their cute tricks,
