It appears it WAS a demon. The creature, something resembling a giant kitsune, appeared and did battle with us, in a battlefield of our own choosing. Initially it resisted whatever we threw at it, even Chachamaru's rocket launcher, but in the end Evangeline-sempai saved the day as she did once in Kyoto: the End of the World Spell.

As the demon shattered into little frozen pieces, an outline of Irene appeared, then faded away. Apparently he'd been totally possessed and become the demon we had defeated.

If only there had been another way...Rest in peace, Irene Valentine.

Irene Valentine, one of the students, was found murdered earlier this morning. Yukihiro Ayaka and Kagurazaka Asuna called several of us together to the murder site. It would appear from old Konoe's observations that something apparently burst its way out of his chest, burning its way out. Could it be, as he suggests, a demon?
