This is the name of the heretic against the purest of magics. The true name of the murderer, the savage...and the one that may save us. I'd say we're doomed, but actually, things are looking up.

Name :: Esouna Scraizent
Age :: 15 (effectively 49)
Height :: 2’ 0”
Weight :: 34 lb.
Race :: Canya
Appearance :: Besides being very small, like a small halfling or a large fairy, one thing someone would immediately notice is Esouna’s two pairs of wings. Both are colored gray with a red tint. The flight wings are shaped like a pair rigid, elongated half-cones—in motion, they function the same way hummingbirds’ wings do, sweeping a ~120 degree arc, from straight downward to an upwards angle. The sensory wings are rectangular and sheet-like, situated behind the flight wings, supported with a bat-like skeletal structure.
After the first two obviousnesses, anyone notices that Esouna looks like a bodybuilder in terms of muscle mass. Clothed in a long, tattered black outfit without footwear, almost everything about her is a warning not to mess with her—from her scarred skin to the burning intensity of her default facial expression. Bright golden hair and similarly-colored eyes draw attention away from her other facial features. She’s not particularly pretty or youthful, having been through hell and back and now approaching her race’s equivalent of 50 years old.
History/Personality :: What is she? A rebel. A defiler. A devil with four wings, an unpleasant conversation partner, prone to anger…but a reliable friend, strong-willed, supportive, and with a lot of free time on her hands to help out her friends. And when she’s relaxed, a compassion and gentleness shows itself.
Esouna cares not for order, or pleasantries, even though she knows she used to and should now. Partway to feral, she tries to keep her mind stable in spite of the lifestyle she usually goes by—living the in wilds and hunting game for food. Civilized life is preferred, but she’s lived in the wilds for so long that she can’t really rely on it, and she has no job skills, anyway.
Esouna strives to become strong enough to go back to her home island, which she can only do by defeating The Guardian who watches over it, locking out the rest of her species from interacting with the world at large. The problem is that The Guardian is kinda sorta a diety. As for why she left in the first place, well, she was exiled. As a child, she had serious anger problems and also liked to spar. The results were predictable: an extended spar ended up with her opponent surrendering, she killed him anyway, and she was banished from the island—which is what her race did instead of death sentences. Her only reprieve would be the usual provision: somehow survive and kill/banish The Guardian, and she could come back.
Unlike most canya, Esouna didn’t die out in the endless waters of the ocean. She found the mainland over a hundred miles away, and so began an endless journey of training herself. Esouna has had a lot of close calls with death, but several self-improvements as well—she learned the ancient art of Altusanima, and when this was found inadequate for herself, she modified it. She also absorbed the power coming from a quasi-divine dark sacrifice, elevating her to a state of being beyond ordinary canya. She has made friend and enemies, lost just as many, and by and large, she now lives alone—trying to beat the clock on her limited (~23 year) lifespan and return back to her home island one last time.
Weapons :: None but her fists.
Weapon Information :: Esouna’s fists are small enough to fit through an ordinary-sized person’s eye socket. Just sayin’.
Armor :: None.
Spells :: Esouna’s magical art, Altusanima, is described here. In addition, Esouna is capable of modifying the Barrier of Force and Radiant Barrier through exerting her willpower, corrupting the spherical shapes of the barriers into four 12' long tendrils that she can control. These thick tendrils retain the properties of the barriers and still do not do harm to a target; she can't really squeeze the life out of someone, but they are useful for manipulation and grapples. If Altusanima is passed down to another willing subject, this perversion of the art will likely disappear with it. Esouna does not have to meditate to perform her corruption, but it still requires a lot of concentration; she cannot hold a conversation while controlling tendrils.

Ability Information ::
Augmented Fitness: In addition to almost-obsessive training, Esouna has been exposed to energies that have drastically empowered her body's abilities, making her a higher class of being than ordinary canya. Despite her small size, Esouna can lift up to 600 lb over her head. She can fly at 70 mph for many hours, her reflexes are superhuman, and her body can endure deep wounds.
Aggression: Esouna is ferocious and can get really, really angry in fights. This negates her ability to use Altusanima, because she can't concentrate, but when she’s seriously pissed off, her physical strength and endurance grow to even more superhuman levels—at peak frustration, she could probably lift 900 pounds.
Strong Will: Esouna is both mentally fierce and rebellious. Esouna can usually shake off effects that can be countered by enough willpower.
Flight: Esouna flies using thin, grey-red, hummingbird-like wings that extend from near her shoulder blades. She can fly with the expected maneuverability, up to 70 mph in speed. The only reason she can't go faster is because the tips of her wings brush the edge of the sound barrier in the middle of their arc at that speed; any faster would distort her wings or cause repeated, wing-shredding sonic booms.
Sensory Wings: In addition to her flight wings, Esouna has two sheet-like, rectangular sensory wings of the same color as her flight wings. They have a bat-like skeletal structure in them, and are used for perception, a marvel of life. They pick up light and sound with tiny structures all over their surfaces, and can also detect magic through their sight.
Tough Skin: Canya have durable skin, like very soft leather. It's not hard to pierce it, exactly, but Esouna doesn't get papercuts and other little things like that. In D&D terms, it's a single point of damage reduction or natural armor.
Extreme Metabolism: The energy used to fly with half-cone hummingbird wings isn't magically supplied. Esouna requires at least 5,500 calories per day to live, even with minimal flight, but she prefers 9,000 a day for good health and free flying. As a result of this, Esouna metabolizes poisons very quickly. They hit her hard, but the effects are overwith alarmingly soon.
Minor Weakness: Healing: Despite an extreme metabolism, The Guardian messed something up when it comes to healing. Canya need additional time to heal from wounds, compared to a human. Healing magic also doesn't work as well.
Racial Emergency: Bright: If Esouna is exposed to enough supernatural energy of any kind (the energy of about an entire belt of grenades will do the trick), it will spark the Bright racial transformation, doubling her base reflexes and mental traits like logic and willpower, granting resistance to the supernatural that can shave off about a third of the damage she would otherwise take, and a rough manipulation of energies she received damage from (Naturally, if there is some sort of magical restriction that makes her unable to use the restricted energy, she can’t.). This lasts for about 20 seconds/3 posts after the transformation post. The transformation causes her skin to glow dimly with a bioluminescent chemical reaction, but no other changes are plainly visible. This ability is purely biological, but acquired energy manipulation methods need their respective sources. Anti-magic will revert this transformation. After the transformation, her body crashes for a few minutes, but not as intensely as the crash of the Dark transformation--she'll still be able to fight, although weakly. The transformation will not activate again for weeks as the body flushes out all remaining traces of the foreign energies.
This ability was instilled into the Canya by the Guardian so that they could fight fire with fire.
Racial Emergency: Dark: If Esouna pushes her physical limits to the breaking point, she will undergo the Dark racial transformation, doubling base physical traits and reflexes, increased skin toughness, and multiplying her base energy and stamina by ten. This lasts the same amount of time as the Bright racial emergency. The transformation turns her skin black--her metabolism becomes so fast that her epidermis actually burns--but there are no other visible changes. After the transformation, her body 'crashes' intensely due to the deficit of energy after the colossal spike in usage that the transformation requires. This crash is possibly a hundred times worse than caffeine crash and usually lasts hours, and the emergency will not activate again for days.
This is basically a more obvious expression of the fight or flight instinct, and gives a canya emergency energy when they desperately need it to survive. When it's done, Esouna is done, and will likely only be able to crawl, if that. Maybe she'll pass out if she overused the extreme energy she acquired. It's not unheard of for extreme canya athletes to go Dark and then die of exhaustion when they reverted.
